As well as online issues.

Watch Dogs launched last month; issues with its reception and its game design notwithstanding, there have also been reports of the game corrupting save files, as well as the online mode having issues. A brand new patch has been issued for a game that addresses these very problems.

The update will reconstruct any save files that were affected by the bug and were corrupted (for reference, the bug makes it impossible for layers to continue their saves, as they are stuck in a perennial loading loop). Issues with the game’s online mode, which prevented players from resuming or containing online sessions (especially in the PC version) have also been addressed.

The full list of game fixes follows:

Major game fixes

Automatically reconstructed corrupted save files which prevented loading to go further than 90%. Some collectibles may remain unrecoverable.

Fixed the issue preventing players from using hacks in game.

Gameplay fixes

Fixed several mission-breaking bugs.

Fixed minor mission and item-related issues.

Fixed the issue that caused the empty weapon-wheel.

Multiplayer fixes

Fixed several minor respawn issues.

Fixed some connection and session joining issues.

PC-specific fixes

Fixed graphical glitches on Low & Medium settings.

Fixed some crashes on SLI configurations.

Implemented several performance improvements.

Implemented a few control improvements.

Fixed issues causing infinite messaging and timing-out when trying to access the Online Shop from the Extras Menu while Uplay is set to Offline mode.

Fixed issues connecting to a Multiplayer game.

Implemented several mouse modifications.

Fixed “Drinking Game” control issue where wrong information was displayed when played with a gamepad.

Fixed “Chess Game” control issue.

Fixed bug where the invasion setting was never saved.

Fixed graphical issues during cut scenes and cinematics.

Fixed several graphical and texture bugs.

Removed Vista OS check to prevent false positives.

Added game version in main menu.

Watch Dogs is currently available for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, and PC; a Wii U version is slated for Fall of this year.

Aka how to kill Attack Boat pilots with a simple glitch.

Battlefield 4: Naval Strike is now available for Premium subscribers across both current and next gen platforms, even with a delay for the Xbox One and PC releases. Despite updates launched to prep gamers for the same, it seems a new bug has emerged in the game that results in Attack Boat pilots being murdered without taking direct fire.

As indicated in the above video, TV missiles indicate the shells unleashed by the gunners which subsequently are destroyed by opposing fire. However, the damage is somehow transferred to the player piloting the boat when opposing fire hits the missiles rather than the shells.

It’s an odd bug to be sure, especially when you consider the circumstances required to pull it off. Regardless, it isn’t the first time we’re seeing bugs in Battlefield 4 and there seem to be many more where that came from. Have you experienced this bug or any others unaddressed by the recent updates? Let us know in the comments.

Respawn Entertainment's first game isn't what we were told. It's actually better.

The Titanfall beta begins like any other first person shooter. You choose from an intentionally limited set of load-outs, for both your Titan and Pilot. You rush into the battlefield securing hard points or battling foes. You can cloak, you can wall run and you even have weapons which automatically lock on to enemies. Titans – huge hulking mechs with significantly more powerful weaponry and ordinance – can be called into the war zone and piloted for combating the enemy.

It’s at this point you’ll wonder what all the fuss was about. You’ll think that Titanfall isn’t your typical FPS, sure, but that Respawn Entertainment’s first major title may have been slightly over-hyped.

"Last Titan Standing is a knock-down, drag-out style fight between Titans with no respawns. It’ll put a test to your skills as both a Pilot and a Titan."

Then something magical happens: You lose. A lot.

You level up and unlock new weapons and upgrades. You still lose. You unlock the ability to customize your own load-outs, choosing from different Tactical Abilities and passive skills. You continue to lose, even though it doesn’t feel like a frustrating loss. Each subsequent defeat spurs you on to find out what’s missing. Do you need better weapons? Do you need those subtle still insanely vital Burn Cards? Do you just need to be faster and stronger than your enemies? Maybe play with higher ranked players that have unlocked more?

And therein lays the ultimate appeal of the game, buried deep below the deceptively simple beta. Experience, speed, power, knowledge of the map, use of Titans, weapon unlocks, Burn Cards, attachments, Tactical Abilities, ordinance and much, much more will help you win. But it’s ultimately up to whether you can be smarter than your enemies and use all of the above to their full potential.

The Titanfall beta only features two maps – Angel City and Fracture – with three primary modes. Attrition is your straightforward death-match wherein you must find and eliminate Titans and Pilots alike for points. The team to reach the point limit wins. Hardpoint Domination is a capture the points-style mode where you must discover and capture various command nodes for your team. The longer the hard points remain under your control, the higher the score accumulation and the closer you get to victory. Last Titan Standing is a knock-down, drag-out style fight between Titans with no respawns. It’ll put a test to your skills as both a Pilot and a Titan.

"Battles between Titans break out in a heart-beat, and you’ll quickly be caught between heavy shells and guided missiles, scrambling for cover and exploring off-beaten paths."

But for the all the apparent simplicities that make up Titanfall and make it easy to enroll in, there are multiple weaves of complexity. One of your Tactical Abilities allows you to cloak and avoid detection by Titans. It doesn’t work so well on infantry or other Pilots, so you’ll need to kill fast or risk being annihilated. The twist? Cloaking masks your presence on the radar. It allows for a few sneaky seconds of assault on a hard point wherein you get the drop on an enemy. This realization also makes you consider how to lock down an area. Pilots can literally enter from anywhere – the windows, holes in the ceiling or through the front door – and you’ll never know until it’s too late.

You can equip a variety of weapons, including Assault Rifles, Shotguns, Sniper Rifles, SMGs and Pistols. Unlike most games, Titanfall doesn’t make worry about your ammunition (unless you need to reload in the middle of a fire fight). Each weapon has its own set of components that can be unlocked, which is achieved by completing Challenges. Fancy an increased magazine? Hunt down some Spectres, which constitute some of the AI troops on the map. Levelling up grants you unlocks as well, but it’s as much about rewarding you for whatever you do as it is about challenging you to earn your upgrades.

While you’ll eventually happen upon your losing streak, there’s something else that becomes immediately apparent in Titanfall: its chaotic atmosphere. Battles between Titans break out in a heart-beat, and you’ll quickly be caught between heavy shells and guided missiles, scrambling for cover and exploring off-beaten paths. Some Titans have the ability to go nuclear and damage a wide area around them. This has the added ability of killing off pilots who tried to rodeo Titans into submission. You can also activate Electric Smoke to kill said pilots if you want to keep your Titan in the exchange.

Some of the more common issues with Titanfall have been its low player count and sub-par bot intelligence. Depending on how you approach both problems, you’ll either come to love the experience – which is very likely – or find it a glaring problem. Bots are more than just cannon fodder for less experienced players. They’re one of the few stepping stones towards upgrading your equipment. Craftier players can use bots as a diversion in order to ambush the opposition while they’re busy reloading.

"Burn Cards are literally the wild cards within Titanfall. You can shave off valuable seconds till your next Titanfall, equip amplified versions of your weapons, earn more experience from killing Pilots and Titans, utilize unavailable weapons, etc."

While the maps are large enough, there’s never a feeling that any single objective is too far away. With parkour, jet-packing, double jumping and wall running, it’s easy to quickly make your way across the world. These abilities also have bearing on your combat skills. Only those who navigate the environment with these skills will have a leg up over their opponents, especially when it comes to circumventing brutal melee attacks. If you want to be really picky, the large map size will only become obvious when you’re being killed repeatedly and are forced to travel back to your last planned objective. To the credit of the developer, the respawn system has been balanced enough to make this an occasional issue.

Burn Cards are literally the wild cards within Titanfall. You can shave off valuable seconds till your next Titanfall, equip amplified versions of your weapons, earn more experience from killing Pilots and Titans, utilize unavailable weapons, etc. You’ll still need the requisite skills and know-how to fully take advantage of them. Prosthetic legs may make you faster but they won’t be of much use when a Titan is bombarding you with rockets and 40 mm shells.

It’s rare to find a multiplayer game like Titanfall that is relatively error-free in its beta stage. Despite server issues that appeared – and took almost two days to be fully resolved – there are no visible bugs in the game at all. No glitches, no collision detection issues, no awful animations, nothing. A bug did arise on the second day, with players unable to find servers to play on, but being this close to perfect is nearly unheard of in the beta stage. The visuals are incredible, providing the perfect blend of particle effects, high resolution textures and field of view without being too overtly distracting for the task at hand.

"Titanfall offers a lot, even when your options feel extremely limited while starting out, and invites you to further open and explore the possibilities."

Titanfall feels like an extremely streamlined, yet still visually rich experience. You’ll overhear conversations from other Grunts about their friends being felled or wanting to become Pilots someday. The voice acting is solid throughout and the characters come across as likeable enough to not immediately cause you to smash your screen when you hear them repeat the same line again. Sound has other applications, including Grunts informing you when a Pilot is nearby and cloaked or when enemy units are closing in on your position.

Can it possibly get better? As clichéd as it sounds, it can. Titanfall has low bandwidth requirements overall and offers a very strong ping rate regardless of whether you’re located. Having played the game on a 3G cellular connection with a 140-200ms ping on most matches, I discovered roughly 70 to 80 MB consumed per hour. Source Engine allows the game to scale to almost any configuration, so if you’re stuck with an AMD A8 CPU and mobile Radeon graphics on your laptop, you’ll still have a blast.

Titanfall may be one of the most sublimely brilliant multiplayer experience ever created, even in its beta stage. It offers a lot, even when your options feel extremely limited while starting out, and invites you to further open and explore the possibilities. Those used to running amok on a Battlefield or heeding the Call of Duty might need to learn a few new tricks while casual FPS fans will just need to buckle in for the long haul when it comes to racking up victories.

But rare is the game that rewards you for playing, even if it’s too fail, as Titanfall does while simultaneously balancing potentially game-breaking mechs with nimble yet vulnerable soldiers. Whether you want to consume an entire weekend or just sneak in a few quick matches in between, Titanfall is worth every heart-pounding second. Stay tuned for our full review of the game wh as we explore just how well the gameplay holds up over a sustained faux campaign and wide-spread commercial usage.

If you were nice enough to buy Final Fantasy 6 on Android when it recently released on the Google Play Store, you may have noticed that the game has its share of issues. For one, “Esper” has been misspelled, but more importantly, the game crashes when Leo and Kefka meet thus delaying any further progress.

The good news is, Square Enix is aware of the issue and will be releasing an update to correct the same. The bad news is, no release date for the update has been provided so it could really be any day now.

As a remake of the classic JRPG, Final Fantasy 6 arrived on Android with revamped visuals and touch-optimized controls. There’s been adequate fanfare for the game, which is widely considered the best Final Fantasy title of all time. We’ll update you on the game’s patching in the coming weeks and whether the issues persist so stay tuned.

EA's failure to correct Battlefield 4's bugs has earned it another lawsuit.

As if one class-action lawsuit wasn’t enough for DICE’s Battlefield 4, law firm Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP have filed a lawsuit against publisher EA for claims made about the game made between July 24th and December 4th 2013 during which the firm alleged that EA gave, “Materially false and misleading statements highlighting the purported strength of the Company’s rollout of version 4 of its all-important Battlefield video game series” in violation the Securities Exchange Act.

It also alleged that those very claims help inflate EA stock, and allowed “certain of Electronic Arts’ senior executives to sell their Electronic Arts stock at artificially inflated prices.” As of now, the game’s overall quality and stability is under scrutiny, especially on the PS4. The firm stated that “multiple glitches and significant crashes” and “bugs, connectivity issues, server limitations, and various other problems plaguing Battlefield 4” plague the PS4 version.

EA also failed to acknowledge that the game was “riddled with bugs and multiple other problems, including downloadable content that allowed players access to more levels of the game, a myriad of connectivity issues, server limitations, lost data and repeated sudden crashes, among other things.” The fact that the publisher has halted production of any future DLC and projects such as Star Wars: Battlefront to focus on fixing Battlefield 4 is just another indicator that they underestimated the problem from the outset.

While DICE was planning to roll out a new Xbox One update for Battlefield 4 on December 2nd, it has decided to delay the same in order to make way for a new title update. It has confirmed that the Xbox One patch will be included in the same.

Posting on the Battlelog forums, DICE stated that, “Here’s a quick update on the state of the next Xbox One game update. The update that was originally meant to go live the week of Dec 2 was delayed, but we decided to bring those fixes to the next upcoming Xbox One update.

“This new combined Xbox One patch is currently in testing and certification, and we will release it as soon as possible. We are hoping to get it live late this week or early next week. We will keep you updated.

“We will share the full change notes for this patch as it goes live. It will focus on stability and some of the feedback we’ve seen from the community, including a fix for the one-hit kill bug and Commander EMP blur effect.”

The patch has already hit the PS4 and is 600 MB in size. What are your thoughts on the multiplayer thus far? Let us know in the comments below.

DICE promises a PS4 update "early next week".

Good news for Battlefield 4 players: DICE has revealed patches in the works for the PlayStation 4 version, which has been suffering from a number of crashes (mostly by those seeking to play in multiplayer).

In a new post on the Battlelog forum, DICE stated that, “We are aware of the frequent crashes in Battlefield 4 on PlayStation 4. We are hard at work identifying these issues and are hoping to get a game update out early next week. Stay tuned for more details as we can confirm them, and thanks for your patience!”

It will also be receiving game updates for the Xbox 360 and PC as well. “We have an upcoming game update for BF4 on X360 that is currently undergoing final testing. We are hoping to get this update live soon, and will let you know as soon as it has passed final stages of testing and is ready for deployment.

“We have a new game update in the works for BF4 on PC aimed at fixing a number of remaining issues in the game. We will have more details on the contents of this update and a rough timing estimate at a later date. You can always find the latest information on upcoming updates in this thread.”

Battlefield 4 is still due to launch for the Xbox One on November 22nd.

Battlefield 4 on the PlayStation 4 has been facing a pretty serious error with multiplayer since release, manifesting in the form of “CE-34878-0 Error” splayed across the screen. However, there are two ways to fix this.

The first way is to ensure that Battlefield 4 is currently on. Go to your Settings and sign out of PSN. Start up Battlefield 4, and when you reach the main menu, hit the PlayStation button to log into PSN. Once you’re online, start multiplayer and get in a few rounds until the error pops up. Wash, rinse and repeat, unfortunately. The benefit of this is that at least you’ll be able to access multiplayer. The CE-34878-0 Error originally just threw you back to the main menu without being able to play anything.

Another way? Just keep hitting the X button and rush to the multiplayer mode before the error has a chance to show up. Will DICE find a way to fix this and figure out to keep it from apparently affecting the single-player as well? We’ll find out in the coming weeks, and hopefully it won’t appear on the Xbox One version when it releases on November 22nd.

A PC client patch is currently being worked on.

No multiplayer-focused game has had a smooth launch and DICE’s Battlefield 4 is no different. The developer has recently updated Battlelog to reveal multiplayer issues currently prioritized to be fixed. Earlier, the developer released a “recommended” multiplayer update on Xbox Live.

“Players on all formats have been experiencing game crashes and freezes while playing. We have logs of the most frequently occurring client crashes, and we are actively working to Obliterate the cause of these crashes in upcoming updates.”

For those facing problems with the PC version, DICE has revealed that, “We are working on a PC client patch at the moment and hope to release it soon. We will share the patch notes once we have the patch contents finalized. The main focus is to fix as many crashes as possible, starting with the issues affecting a large number of players.”

Currently, the developer is working to fix audio bugs, a progress reset bug, single-player saves being corrupted, missing promo items, and server crashes happening regardless of platform. So stay tuned for more fixes.

Twenty days after its launch, Rockstar is fighting to fix GTA Online issues.

Rockstar Games is still busy trying to patch up Grand Theft Auto Online’s many issues. One of those includes a user reporting that cash and Reputation Points aren’t being saved properly, with progress between sessions also not being saved. If you’ve been having this problem even after installing update 1.04, then rest assured that Rockstar is looking into it.

“We have received some reports about cash and RP not saving in GTA Online since around 5PM ET on 10/18/13, and are investigating this now.” It later updated the same around 9.30 PM ET, on the same day to reveal that, “Stat processing is currently delayed. These should catch up later tonight or – at latest – early tomorrow morning.”

On October 19th, 6:30 PM ET, Rockstar revealed, “Service was restored in the early morning hours. We are still looking into some reports about some players’ progress not catching up, and also reports about additional lost progress or problems connecting to Rockstar cloud servers today. Please stay tuned here for more updates.”

Grand Theft Auto Online launched on October 1st and almost immediately ran into a wave of problems including inability to progress past the first mission, general bugs and much more. Rockstar has since released a new game update to combat any errors.
