Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition pre-orders on PS4 receive a neat bonus today – they can access the campaign for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, starting today. The download is roughly 39.18 GB according to previous reports.

Those who purchased through the PlayStation Store will see the game appear in the “Library” menu. Retail purchases will net you a code after paying for the entire purchase that can be redeemed for the campaign. It should also be noted that this early access will only be viable until November 3rd. Afterwards, you’ll need the disc to play Modern Warfare Remastered and access multiplayer. Digital owners will simply need to download the remaining files.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered will both release in full on November 4th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. What are your thoughts on the latter’s campaign at this point? Let us know in the comments below.

You can also toggle off medals.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will be available on October 5th for PS4 players who pre-ordered the Legacy Edition of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. However, that’s just the campaign – you’ll need to wait till November 4th for multiplayer.

And if you think online is the only place to have fun, then don’t worry – developer Raven Software has revealed that bots will be available in the private match options. Lead designer Amos Hodge confirmed as much on Twitter.

Hodge also revealed that players who hate the new medal pop-ups will have the ability to switch them off. “Raven has added an option to disable the in-game HUD icon display for medals.”

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will feature other fan-requested features including the return of the original announcer for multiplayer, loadouts unlocked for private matches and so on. Are you excited for it? Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks.

Campaign available early for some.

Though the campaign is set to go live later this week for those who pre-ordered Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered is already in the hands of some early access players. One such player is renowned Call of Duty YouTuber NoahJ456 who managed to reveal the size of the game’s download.

Overall, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered will be 39.18 GB in size and can be played at 10.61 GB has been downloaded. It should be noted that while this seems large for just the campaign, it’s possible that the multiplayer component is included as well. This will only go live with the servers on November 4th alongside the release of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered features the original campaign with updated textures and graphical effects. While 10 multiplayer maps will be released at launch, the final six maps will arrive in December at no extra charge.

If you pre-ordered Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition on the PS4, then you’ll be receiving early access to the campaign for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered. In the lead-up to this, a Trophy list for the game’s 51 different accolades has been released by Exophase. Naturally, there are spoilers ahead, though they shouldn’t be all that major considering the campaign released nearly a decade ago.

One such Trophy is “Time Paradox” which you receive for killing Makarov. The funny thing is that Makarov only became a villain in the second and third Modern Warfare. He makes an appearance in the Shock and Awe mission of Modern Warfare and killing him seems to hint at the future being changed. Or something.

There’s also a Trophy called “Dogs. I Hate Dogs” which you receive for knifing 20 dogs. Because of course there is.

For those who didn’t pre-order or aren’t on PS4, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered releases in full on November 4th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. It will be included with the Legacy Edition of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

Strafe jumping, original launch playlists and more return.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered has attracted its share of detractors despite the overwhelmingly positive reaction to its announcement. After viewing fan feedback, Raven Software noted some of the things it took in mind from the community.

For instance, lead designer Amos Hodge noted on Twitter that the original multiplayer announcer would be returning for all classic modes. Weapon sounds will be updated – such as for guns like the Desert Eagle, RPD and M40A3 – but will match those of the original. Also, playlists present in the original launch will be present along with some new modes’ playlists.

Create-A-Class items will be unlocked in Private Matches so you’ll be able to choose any weapons, killstreaks, perks and attachments that you’d like. Also, strafe jumping will also be present in the remaster.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered will release on November 4th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC with Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s Legacy Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition.

Raven Software's David Pellas seemed to indicate as much.

For months now, Activision has been telling us that the only way to get Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered was to purchase the Legacy Edition (or Digital Deluxe Edition) of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

However, when Gamereactor spoke to Raven Software’s David Pellas at Call of Duty XP about the release break-up for the remaster’s maps – with 10 releasing at launch and six more being added later – he made a rather interesting statement.

“What we announced before today was that we were going to offer 10 maps on launch, and that’s still true. The announcement today is that the six remaining maps we are actually going to be delivering to anyone who purchases Modern Warfare Remastered, anyone who owns it or a version of Infinite Warfare that comes with it, they’re going to get all 16 of the maps for no additional cost.”

The part about owning “it or a version of Infinite Warfare that come with it” is interesting because the first part seems to indicate it will release separately. Keep in mind that this could be a mistake on Pellas’s part. If it’s not, it doesn’t necessarily mean Modern Warfare Remastered will sell separately at launch. More official information from Activision would certainly be helpful.

Along with showcasing footage for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s multiplayer, Activision also debuted footage for the multiplayer of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered. Check it out below (courtesy of Gamelite).

If you’ve played Modern Warfare, then this will look pretty familiar. The action is limited to boots on the ground with weapons like the AK-47 and Barrett .50 Cal being your best friends. The visuals look much better than the original, which is understandable given how it’s about nine years old at this point.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered will be releasing on November 4th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC for those who purchase the Legacy Edition of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Along with the previously announced 10 multiplayer maps, it was announced that an additional six would be added in December for free, thus bringing all 16 of the original maps to the remastered edition.

At the Call of Duty XP event, it was announced that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered’s mulitplayer would be receiving all 16 of the original game’s maps. Previously, it was announced that only 10 maps would be remastered for the new generation.

However, further sweetening the deal, it was confirmed that these additional maps will be released for free. Expect them to arrive sometime in December.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered is included with both the Legacy Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. It offers the original game’s campaign remastered with new textures, a higher resolution and much more. Unfortunately, it won’t be sold separately from Infinite Warfare.

Both games are out on November 4th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC though PS4 players who pre-order can play Modern Warfare Remastered’s campaign on October 5th.

Vince Zampella says it's "a huge part of people's gaming memories".

It’s not easy seeing one of your most famous properties be revisited or remastered without your involvement. Such is the case with Titanfall creator and Respawn Entertainment CEO Vince Zampella – when he was still in charge of Infinity Ward with Jason West, the two cranked out arguably one of their most significant shooters of all time with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

Now, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered is coming and Zampella actually told those working on the project to not f**k things up for fans. Speaking to Eurogamer, Zampella laughed when he said, “I told them – don’t f*** it up. That’s my on the record response. I rang them up and said, honestly, don’t f**k it up. It’s a huge part of people’s gaming memories.”

And it’s not hard to see why. Along with being most fans’ favourite Call of Duty ever and the game that skyrocketed the franchise to success, a remaster was requested for years and it only makes sense that Zampella wants to see it done right.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered can currently be obtained by purchasing Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s Legacy Edition. Both games are out on November 4th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

A wild E3 appeared! What games does it have in store?

You know E3 2016 is coming and we probably don’t have to remind you. Despite starting on June 14th to 16th, the actual announcements will be in-bound from June 12th onwards with Electronic Arts and Bethesda Softworks hosting pressers. This will continue onto June 13th when Microsoft, Ubisoft, Sony and the PC Gaming Show take centre stage. What are the big games to look out for though? The games that you should probably care about and keep an eye on? Take a look at 25 of such games en route to E3. Don’t worry – we included plenty of titles that actually might be good when they arrive.

Watch Dogs 2

So “downgrade, downgrade ROFL” aside, one hopes that Watch Dogs 2 offers significant gameplay improvements over the original. That being said, how trippy is it that Watch Dogs 2 is actually happening this year, that too on such short notice? Granted, Assassin’s Creed skipping a year may have contributed to that fact but that’s neither here nor there. Even if it sucks for me personally, I’m still looking forward to it at E3, even if dorky Asian exchange student is the main character. And so should you.
