Going by the video, some of the influences of seminal games like Metal Gear Solid are evident, with quite a few of the title’s designs seemingly coming right out of the pages of Yoji Shinkawa’s art book. The video also indicates that the game’s visual fidelity is definitely a high priority of the studio. There are lavishly-designed rooms with incredible levels of reflections all over the place.

The video also gives us a brief look at what we can expect from Black State when it comes to gameplay. The game will be a third-person shooter where the player will use cover to take down enemies ranging from regular soldiers to all-out demons with telekinetic powers. Various weapons are also shown off, from the humble assault rifle to a strange gun that seems to shoot electricity.

Black State will have players taking on the role of a military “legend”, according to the game’s original announcement, and will set out on a mission to uncover the truth about a cataclysmic event, and while they’re at it, also rescue a scientist potentially linked to these events.

Alongside Metal Gear Solid, the studio has previously also cited other games as inspiration, including The Last of Us and Uncharted. Black State is currently in development on PC and doesn’t yet have a release date. The game is developed on Unreal Engine 5.

The representative also said that the company had not seen the console, and it did not have information on the Switch 2 that could be considered accurate.

“Only Nintendo can tell whether accessories for the Switch will be compatible with the Switch 2,” said the company. Genki also stated that it doesn’t know whether the line-up of accessories it revealed will be compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2 when it launches.

Nintendo has also released its own statement, saying that any version of the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware present at CES 2025 was not official. The company also clarified that it had not sent Genki the console to design its accessories.

Among the details gleaned from Genki’s products was a mock-up of the Nintendo Switch 2, which indicated that the console would be bigger than the original Nintendo Switch. These details, however, have proven unreliable since Nintendo itself has yet to confirm the dimensions of its next console. Genki’s accessories also indicated that the Switch 2’s JoyCons would use a new magnetic system to attach to the console for handheld mode, with a new larger button to detach JoyCons resting under the triggers.

Aside from Genki’s presence at CES 2025, there have been several other leaks about the Nintendo Switch 2 recently, with the most recent one giving us a look at what might be the new logo for the console. Similar to the original Switch logo, the new logo will seemingly feature a prominent “2.”

Other recent leaks indicate that the Switch 2 will not be compatible with the original’s charger. A photo of its dock also indicates that the system will be more power-hungry when docked, which indicates that it might have more horsepower under the hood. The new charger for the Switch 2 will seemingly output higher voltages.

The Switch 2 is also expected to have its take on image upscaling technology in the vein of Nvidia’s DLSS, according to a recently-discovered patent filing. The patent indicates that the console will be outfitted with its own neural net processor, allowing it to make use of AI to upscale low-resolution images at resolutions of up to 4K for use with modern TVs.

Whenever it launches, the Nintendo Switch 2 is expected to be successful. According to Circana analyst Mat Piscatella, 4.3 million units of the console are expected to be sold in the US alone by the end of the year. A rumour from December indicates that Nintendo will officially unveil the console at an event in May, with a launch in June.

“The gaming hardware that Genki presented as Nintendo hardware at CES was not provided to the company by us,” said the company in its statement. It also mentioned to Sankei Shimbun that the pictures of the Switch 2 that have been making the rounds are unofficial.

For context, accessory company Genki was present at CES 2025 to showcase its new line-up of accessories designed for the Nintendo Switch 2. While few technical details were revealed in this way, some of the company’s accessories shed light on some of the more unknown features of the console, such as the presence of a new ‘C’ button and the new magnet-based system for attaching and detaching JoyCons.

Along with also giving us a look at the supposed dimensions of the Nintendo Switch 2, Genki also indicated that the console would hit store shelves in April by stating that its own accessories would be launching at around the same time.

Some of the accessories shown off by Genki include a charging dock for the new Switch 2 JoyCon controllers and grips to make the handheld mode more ergonomic and comfortable.

Leaks about the Nintendo Switch 2 have been happening outside of Genki’s involvement. Recently, for instance, the apparent logo for the upcoming console got leaked. The logo, while similar to one for the original Switch, also sported a big ‘2’ on it to signify that it is a new platform.

Other leaks about the Switch 2 have been more revealing, such as the fact that the console will need a charger with a higher level of voltage when compared to its predecessor when docked. This indicates that the Switch 2 is likely packing more powerful hardware that needs all the power it can get and a beefier battery to last longer in handheld mode.

A recent patent filing also gave us some hints about some of the hardware capabilities of the Switch 2. Chief among these was the presence of a Neural Net engine, which will allow the console to make use of its own upscaling technology in the vein of Nvidia’s DLSS. Essentially, this hardware will allow the Switch 2 to make use of AI to upscale low-resolution images at up to 4K for use on modern TVs.

Nintendo itself has been incredibly quiet about the Switch 2, but rumours have indicated that the console might get unveiled during an event in May, with a launch expected in June. Other rumours have put the announcement closer to April.

Regardless of when it comes out, the Nintendo Switch 2 is expected to be a successful console launch. Circana analyst Mat Piscatella, for instance, expects the console to sell more than 4 million units in a single year in the US alone.

“I didn’t expect this much media attention, to be honest,” said a Genki representative to IGN.

Thanks to the company having a mock-up model of the Switch 2 on display to help demonstrate its accessories, more details about the size of the system and its JoyCon controllers were discovered. The Switch 2 looks like it will be considerably larger than the original Nintendo Switch.

Compared to the 9.4-inch width of the OLED Nintendo Switch, the Switch 2 mock-up is almost an entire inch wider, coming in at 10.5 inches. The Switch 2 is also taller, coming in at 4.5 inches compared to the Switch’s 4-inch height. This also means that the Switch 2 has a larger display, coming in at 8 inches compared to the Switch’s 7-inch display. Both the OLED Switch and the Switch 2 seem to have the same thickness.

The mock-up of the Switch 2 also allowed IGN to check the ergonomics of the device, including the various buttons on the system that can be pressed. One of the more interesting details is the fact that its JoyCons are attached to the main body of the Switch 2 through the use of magnets and SL/SR buttons that are metallic. The mechanism for sliding out the JoyCons has also seemingly changed, with a new, larger button under the triggers to facilitate this.

The representative from Genki also noted that the Switch 2 looks like it could fit into the dock of the original Switch, but the company couldn’t get it to work owing to the shapes of different grooves on the system. The Switch 2 reportedly also has an additional USB-C port on the top to allow charging the device while playing it in handheld mode.

While no new technical details about the Switch 2 have been revealed by Genki, recent leaks have indicated that the console will be capable of upscaling images for high-resolution output with its own implementation of DLSS-type technology.

More recently, the logo for the Nintendo Switch 2 has been seemingly leaked thanks to prominent leaker Felipe Lima. The logo appears to be quite similar to that of the original Switch, albeit with a big number 2 to signify the fact that it will be a new console.

Other leaks have indicated that the Switch 2 might require more power than its predecessor, needing a higher powered charger for its dock.

In terms of specs, the Lenovo Legion Go S will have a 120 Hz refresh rate screen and a resolution of 1920 x 1200. Under the hood, the Legion Go S will run off a 55 Wh battery. The internal specs will depend on whether you go with the Windows 11 version or the SteamOS version of the device. The Windows 11 version of the Legion Go S will have 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, along with a price tag of $729.99 when it hits store shelves later this month. The SteamOS version, slated for release in May, will feature 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, and a price tag of $499.99.

There is also a second Windows 11 version with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage planned for release and priced at $599.99.

All variants of the Lenovo Legion Go S will run on one of AMD’s newer chips – the Ryzen Z2 Go. The chip, designed specially for handheld gaming devices, has four CPU cores, 12 GPU cores, and can boost up to clock speeds of 4.3 GHz. According to The Verge, Legion Go product manager Alex Zhu has stated that Lenovo is targeting a battery life of between two and two and a half hours when the Legion Go S runs heavier games.

Alongside the announcement of the Legion Go S, Valve also made an announcement of its own about SteamOS growing beyond the confines of the Steam Deck. According to Valve, the SteamOS version of the Legion Go S will feature all of the software features that the Steam Deck is known for, including pre-compiled shaders. The company has stated that it will be working with Lenovo to improve compatibility with other handhelds.

It is worth noting that, since SteamOS is based on Linux, the variant of the Legion Go S running on Valve’s operating system might face similar compatibility issues to the Steam Deck, where games with strict anti-cheat systems don’t work well. Among the major games that can’t be played on the Steam Deck, for example, is Destiny 2.

SteamOS itself will also be getting its own beta release shortly before the launch of the Legion Go S, allowing users to try the operating system out with other handhelds.

Along with having a host of new accessories for the Nintendo Switch 2 on display, Genki also had a model of the console, allowing visitors to check out the range of accessories in real time. According to Numerama, the Switch 2 seems to be physically larger than its predecessor.

Genki also stated that its accessories will hit store shelves around the same time as the Nintendo Switch 2, which the accessory maker said was due to be in April. Interestingly enough, Genki also claims to have the console in its possession.

The company has also released a short video on its official website that gives us a look at some of its accessories, while also allowing us to look at what might end up being the new release mechanism for the Switch 2’s JoyCons.

Genki’s claims of the console being launched in April tie in with previous rumours that have indicated that Nintendo was looking to unveil the Switch 2 before the end of the current financial year, which would clock in at the end of April.

This goes against another rumour, however, which indicates that Nintendo is looking to unveil the Nintendo Switch 2 during an event in May, with a launch for the console slated for launch. As is the case with all rumours, however, it is worth taking all of these details with a grain of salt.

Several rumours about the Nintendo Switch 2 have popped up in recent times, ranging from the fact that it will have DLSS-styled image upscaling technology, as well as other notable details, such as a picture of the new console’s dock that indicates a higher-powered charger being required. Pictures of the Switch 2’s JoyCons are also rumoured to have popped up.

At its recent CES 2025 presentation, Sony announced that PlayStation Productions and Columbia Pictures have started working on a film based on Guerrilla’s acclaimed 2017 open-world action RPG Horizon Zero Dawn. Little is known about the project or who is attached to it, with Sony only confirming that it is in early development right now.

Horizon Zero Dawn will be the second collaborative project between PlayStation Productions and Columbia Pictures, who previously worked together on the Uncharted film.

Sony also recently announced that an anime based on Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, and a movie based on Helldivers, in addition to showcasing a new trailer for HBO’s upcoming second season of The Last of Us.

The laptop features an 18-inch display, runs on Intel’s Core Ultra 9 285HX CPU and offers graphics powered by the mobile version of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090. Other hardware features of the laptop include 96 GB of DDR5 RAM, 24 GB of GDDR7 VRAM, and a Gen5 NVMe M.2 slot for high-speed storage, along with three Gen4 slots for expansion.

The display features a resolution of 3840×2400 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The laptop will also feature a mechanical keyboard with switches from Cherry and Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 for wireless connectivity. The audio on the Titan HX will be handled by four regular speakers and two woofers, totalling up to six.

The laptop will run on a 99.9 Wh battery that can be charged with a 400-watt power adapter. On the I/O front, users will have access to two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 5 capability, three USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, an HDMI 2.1 port for external displays, an SD card slot, and 1 Gb ethernet.

Along with all of these features, MSI has also unveiled a Dragon Edition Norse Myth variant of the Titan 18 HX, which features a hand-drawn dragon across its chassis and a dragon coin kept under a glass enclosure on the laptop’s palm rest. The variant will also come with a host of extra goodies, including a massive mouse pad, a mouse, a 3D dragon keychain, and a unique Norse myth-inspired unboxing experience.

As out of left field as the announcement may initially seem, it makes perfect sense given the success of Arrowhead’s Helldivers 2. Launched in February 2024, it became the fastest-selling title of all time for PlayStation, crossing 15 million players in November. It would subsequently become one of the top-selling games of 2024 on Steam.

Helldivers 2 has received numerous updates in December, the latest adding the Illuminate and a collaboration with Killzone. The latter met with backlash over its pricing, prompting Arrowhead to distribute the second half of its content for free. Stay tuned for more details on the movie in the future.

Takanobu Mizuno (Star Wars: Visions – “The Duel”) is directing while NITRO PLUS’s Gen Urobuchi is in charge of the story composition. The project is a collaboration between PlayStation Productions, Aniplex, Crunchyroll and Sony Music (the “music and soundtrack partner”).

Crunchyroll president Rahul Purini said in a press release, “This project is a testament to the creative synergy within the Sony family, uniting the expertise of PlayStation Studios and PlayStation Productions; the creative team of Sucker Punch Productions and Aniplex; Sony Music’s iconic global artist roster; and Crunchyroll’s fan-first global marketing and distribution footprint. The Ghost of Tsushima anime will offer fans an exciting new way to experience the game in an anime style that will be bold and groundbreaking.”

PlayStation Productions head Asad Qizilbash added, “Having already proven the immense quality and versatility of our gaming properties across multiple successful film and television projects, we couldn’t be more excited to announce our first-ever anime adaptation. Ghost of Tsushima‘s rich, immersive world and its fantastical Legends mode based on Japanese mythology provide the perfect canvas for this project, and Aniplex is the perfect partner to translate Sucker Punch Productions’ hit video game into a stunning new anime series.”

It’s unknown whether the anime will focus on Jin Sakai in the story campaign, adapt the Ghost of Tsushima: Legends multiplayer story, or present an original tale. Nevertheless, it represents a continued media push for the franchise alongside the Ghost of Tsushima live-action film directed by Chad Stahelski of John Wick fame.

Of course, there’s also Ghost of Yōtei, launching this year for PS5 and occurring over 300 years after the first game. It features a new protagonist, Atsu – head here for more details.
