Warner Brothers Interactive is giving away a custom designed Arkham City Xbox 360 and the Collector’s Edition of the Batman Arkham City. Activision may be one of the biggest game publishers out there will some of the top selling games under their belt especially if you include their partnership with Blizzard.  However they still care about the little people and the indie game scene as they are holding a competition as they will be giving a $250,000 Award to fund the two best game concepts program. The contest will be administered and Juried by IndieCade.  This will be the second Activision Independent Games Competition and submissions will be accepted from October 3, 2011 through December 31, 2011.

First place will receive $175,000 and second place will receive $75,000 to help assist them with the development of their game. The best part about in my opinion is that the ownership of all submissions will remain with the creator so, especially if you win you have the opportunity to choose where to take your game from there rather then it being published by Activision.  Full press release below.

Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken is a game that will be exclusive for the Playstation Network and is.. well.. far from average when it comes to an arcade title.  Personally I like it, with its unique humorous theme but taken so seriously when it comes to the game. Well you read the headline, so you know what you are in for the only catch is you will be seen as a survivor in Resistance 3.  Either way I think it’s a pretty cool gig but your really going to have to picture yourself as a survivor in the game… literally. In order to enter the contest you will have to send in an image of yourself in “the middle of a Resistance-style battle” but to be more realistic for people that don’t have air-soft guns laying around, you must look as much like a survivor as possible. A little make-up and torn clothing rolled in the dirt is a good way to do it.

Two lucky people will be chosen to appear in the new Resistance 3 game exclusively for the Playstation 3.  The bad news is, as I know many of our viewers of from the U.S., you are not eligible according to the Terms and Conditions but I won’t stop you from signing up anyway under a U.K. form. This is very strange since the shooting will take place in the U.S. but the Terms state that the contest is open to residents of Australia, Austria, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Russia, and the United Kingdom aged 18 or over. You must also be semi fit as you will be mo-capped as well as scanned into the game and you can only enter this Competition during the following period: 8/02/2011 at 00.00 GMT (the “Opening Date”) and 08/03/2011 at 23:59 GMT (the “Closing Date”).

You will play as Survivors against the Chimera in Resistance 3 while also getting a chance to see and play the game before anyone else! To enter the competition, you’ll need to upload a photo of yourself in the middle of a Resistance style battle, or looking like you’ve just survived one and the site states that the more props you use, the better the odds are of winning so this should be interesting. Once you have done that you just need to explain why you deserve to be one of our Resistance 3 survivors in a few words and that’s it. The two lucky winners will have everything paid for from flights, hotels and etc.
