Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection, Assassin’s Creed Origins, and Chorus Coming to Xbox Game Pass in June

Microsoft has announced the first wave of titles coming to Xbox Game Pass in June, starting with For Honor: Marching Fire Edition tomorrow. It includes the 4v4 Breach Mode, the PvE Arcade Mode and the Wu Lin faction. Next up is Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection on June 2nd for consoles and PC, which features Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge in one package.

On June 7th, as previously announced, Assassin’s Creed Origins arrives for cloud, consoles and PC. This may coincide with the release of the 60 FPS patch for Xbox Series X/S and PS5 – we’ll need to wait and see. Space combat title Chorus is out on the same day for the same platforms, providing a fast-paced, narrative-focused arcade shooting experience.

Brutal puzzler Disc Room and rogue-like co-op management title Spacelines from the Far Out also releases on June 7th. Both are coming to PC and consoles but Disc Room is also playable via the cloud. It’s not easy playing every single big game that releases in a year, especially with so many surprise releases and critical successes. There’s always a few titles that slip under one’s radar, only to be noticed when the dust clears. To that end, let’s take a look at 10 of the best games that you probably didn’t play this year and what makes them worth checking out.

Murder by Numbers

Mix the story-telling of visual novels with investigative mechanics that use Picross puzzles, and you get Murder by Numbers. Developed by Mediatonic of Fall Guys fame, the story sees Honor Mizrahi working with her robot SCOUT to investigate a series of strange murder cases. Though the puzzles are fairly limited due to their inherent nature, they combine well with the aesthetic to offer one of the more unique mystery games out there.

Devolver Direct 2020 is Still Happening

Following the cancellation of E3 2020, various publishers are holding their own digital events or joining initiatives like the Summer Game Fest and Guerrilla Collective. Microsoft has first party Xbox Series X games to showcase in July while Ubisoft Forward will be taking place in the same month. One has to wonder though: What about Devolver Digital?

The indie-centric publisher is infamous for its E3 “presentations” which alternate between over-the-top and ultra-violent. And while Devolver Direct 2020 is still happening, the company said it wasn’t sure when due to “THESE UNCERTAIN TIMES.” That being said, it said that the showcase “should be a good one.”

There are a number of titles that it will be publishing in 2020 including Disc Room, Carrion, Sludge Life, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout and Serious Sam 4: Planet Badass. Then there are titles like Eitr and Weird West that still don’t have release dates. Stay tuned for more details on them all the same and keep an eye out for the inevitable return of Nina Struthers.

Devolver Direct 2020 is happening but we’re not sure when due to THESE UNCERTAIN TIMES.
