Bungie hasn’t exactly had the best reputation with events for Destiny 2. However, after Solstice of Heroes and following the launch of Forsaken, it’s presenting some rather cool concepts for Destiny 2’s first Festival of the Lost event. Starting on October 16th, the Festival of the Lost is a spooky celebration that’s also meant to honour all those lost during humanity’s many battles.

Along with new Triumphs and Ephemeral Engrams containing new cosmetics (earned by filling the XP bar), players will have daily bounties to undertake. These are doled out by Amanda Holliday and will award Fragmented Souls for purchasing masks, and a Legendary auto rifle called the Horror Story.

Perhaps the most interesting content will be the Haunted Forest. A reskin of sorts for the Infinite Forest from the Curse of Osiris, the Haunted Forest tasks players with diving in as far as they can for 15 minutes, defeating Nightmares and facing tougher challenges. It will support solo and three-man fireteams, though matchmaking is also an option.

Finally, an interesting quest line to hunt down the murderer of Master Ives will also start on October 30th. A “powerful reward” will be doled out each week, with the quest itself beginning on October 30th. Festival of the Lost will end on November 6th at 10 AM PT.

Bungie has finally dated the return of Destiny’s next big event, Festival of the Lost. The Halloween celebration begins on October 25th and ends on November 8th. Check out the reveal trailer below which has tons of masks, emoting and admittedly annoying dances.

Festival of the Lost this year will see Tyra Karn of the Iron Temple asking you for a favour. From here, you’ll take part in various quests and whatnot to get into the Halloween spirit. Along with the Tower, the Reef and Iron Temple will also be decked out for the event.

New emotes, consumables and masks were already confirmed here and Bungie also revealed that new ornaments were on the way for the Exotic Bad Juju. If that weren’t enough, Ghosts will also have unique shells including one that’s a plain white sheet over your Ghost. Spooky.

In the midst of Wrath of the Machine’s Heroic mode being released (and beaten in suitably quick fashion) for Bungie’s Destiny: Rise of Iron, new information has been unearthed regarding the Festival of the Lost. This is the Halloween-themed event that’s expected to return sometime this month. It sees players donning masks and completing quests for Halloween rewards. Of course, it also means new dances, emotes, consumables and even ornaments.

Ishtar Collective managed to unearth a number of these including masks for SIVA, Saladin, a SIVA-infested Iron Lord and Firewolf. Some of the quests have been detailed including the completion of Patrols and Public Events while wearing a mask.

Older masks from last year’s event will have also been updated in the process. For ornaments, thus far we know of Bad Juju receiving some new cosmetics. We’ll see if this extends to other Exotics (Thorn and Red Death also appear to be in the running).
