If you’ve ever downloaded Genshin Impact in the past, it will still be available to access from your library until the end of service. Updates will also continue. You also have the option to bind their account to other login methods starting on December 17th, 2025, with a pop-up appearing in-game. Any items left unclaimed can also be obtained later by logging into the PS5 version.

As for the reason behind the end of PS4 support, miHoYo notes that it’s because of “Limitations related to hardware performance and platform application size.” Considering the ever-burgeoning size of the free-to-play action RPG, which has consistently added massive new regions and extensive questlines since launching in 2020, this isn’t surprising. Of course, the PlayStation 5 version will remain unaffected.

Aside from PS4 and PS5, Genshin Impact is also available for iOS, Android, and PC.

As the centrepiece of the next Archon Quest, the Pyro Archon fights with a claymore and the Flamestrider, smacking opponents with it like Dante in Devil May Cry 5. Of course, the latter is also great while exploring the world since it can climb, glide, and even traverse water. The other 5-star character arriving later in the update is Citlali, who deals Cryo damage.

As for the new quest, it sees Natlan’s heroes reuniting against the new Abyssal Mimic Dragon. The Traveler will also unlock the ability to wield Pyro, adding to their repertoire of elemental masteries. If that wasn’t enough, the Lantern Rite festival returns with new rewards and even the option for a free 4-star character from Liyue.

Subscribers can also avail of free materials to get a leg up, from 10 Hero’s Wit to level up a character, 15 Mystic Enhancement Ore to improve weapons, 100,000 Mora, and Northlander Billet Trove to choose one of five 4-star weapons. You also get two Intertwined Fate to pull for new characters on event banners.

Furthermore, the Xbox version launches alongside Version 5.2, “Tapestry of Spirit and Flame,” the next chapter set in the nation of Natlan. It adds two new characters, Chasca and Ororon, and new areas to explore.

Genshin Impact is seemingly only the beginning, with Zenless Zone Zero also allegedly coming to Xbox with its next update in December. Nothing is official, so stay tuned for announcements in the coming weeks.

Red Candle Games’ sleek action platformer Nine Sols goes live on November 26th, followed by Aliens: Dark Descent on November 27th (which will also be available on Game Pass Standard). Game Pass Standard subscribers can also look forward to Little Kitty, Big City and PlateUp!, both on consoles from November 20th.

Those subscribed to Game Pass Ultimate can also avail of benefits for Genshin Impact when it launches on November 20th. These include free XP materials, Intertwined Fates, Mora, and more.

At Gamescom Opening Night live, miHoYo announced that Genshin Impact is finally coming to Xbox Series X/S on November 20. The developer made the announcement with a new trailer, which also showcased Natlan, another major nation that the game will be adding with an upcoming update. Check out the trailer below for a glimpse of what it will bring. 

Notably, miHoYo hasn’t announced the game for Xbox One, even though on PlayStation it is a cross-gen title. It also remains to be seen whether we can expect Genshin Impact to release for Switch as well- or perhaps its upcoming successor?

Genshin Impact is currently available on PS5, PS4, PC, iOS, and Android. 

“Alchemical Ascension” sees players working with Lisa to grow ingredients and brew potions to sell. You can upgrade the facilities and utilize better potion bottles as revenue grows, with rewards including the “Dialogue of the Desert Sages” 4-star Polearm.

As for new characters, Chiori finally joins the roster as a 5-star Geo user who wields a sword but can unsheathe twin blades as part of her Elemental Burst. Players can also engage with her in a new Story Quest, which involves her work in the Fontaine Fashion Week.

The first half of the 4.5 Event Wishes includes Chiori and Arataki Itto, followed by Neuvillette and Kaedehara Kazuha in the second half. Paimon’s Training Guide will also provide details on enhancing weapons, artifacts, Talents and characters. Stay tuned for more when Version 4.5 goes live in the coming weeks.

Judging by the teaser image, the update could feature Chiori, Kirara and Sucrose in some new quests and activities. Chiori is confirmed to be playable in the future, so Version 4.5 could finally mark her debut. The banner could also provide a rerun for Sucrose and Kirara, while Jeht could be the other new character joining the roster.

New events and mini-games await while Xingqiu, Ganyu and Shenhe get new outfits. There will also be ten Intertwined Fates to claim while logging during the event, with three additional dispatched to players alongside two Fragile Resin.

A free 4-star Liyue character can be claimed by all players, while Xianyun and Gaming are new additions to the roster. The former is a five-star character with an Anemo vision who uses a Catalyst and is best known as the Cloud Retainer. The latter is a four-star Pyro character who wields a Claymore.

If that’s not enough, you can face off against a new boss, Solitary Suanni, in Chenyu Vale. Stay tuned for more details on Xianyun and Gaming in the coming weeks.

Possessing a Geo Vision and wielding a Claymore during regular combat, Navia is the president of Spina di Rosula. Despite her gregarious nature – as seen in the trailer when pursuing the thief – Navia is kind-hearted and enjoys helping the city’s people. She’s also skilled at investigating and examining things from a different angle when not busy baking.

Stay tuned for more information on her skills and abilities before Version 4.3 goes live. The update will also add Chevreuse, a 4-star Cryo character; the Fontinalia Festival, with various mini-games; and new cards and opponents in Genius Invokation TCG. Head here for more details.

The Fontinalia Festival focuses on the characters making a short film with Furina as the director, Kamisato Ayaka and Ayato as actors, and the Traveller coordinating. There are mini-games, including one focused on marksmanship, with players able to win Theater Tickets to exchange for rewards like “Ultimate Overlord’s Mega Magic Sword,” a four-star Claymore.

Fans can also expect an update to Genius Invokation TCG, with more cards, NPCs to battle and the limited-time mode Heated Battle. There will also be some optimizations for exploring Teyvat, with a “one-click function” to collect expedition rewards, ingredients and forged items. You’ll also be able to lock batches of Artifacts and set filters for which new or existing Artifacts to look.
