That’s as per a Bloomberg report that claims WB Games was “concerned” that the new content that was to be included wasn’t going to be “substantial enough” to justify the price point that the company was considering for the release. The report claims the expansion would have included a storyline revolving around a companion character that was cut from the base game.

Last month, the embattled WB Games announced a significant shakeup following a string of high-profile failures, which involved the shuttering of Monolith Productions and Player First Games, and the cancellation of the former’s Wonder Woman game.

A sequel to Hogwarts Legacy remains in development at Avalanche Software.

As per the report, Hogwarts Legacy Definitive Edition will feature as much as 10-15 hours of completely new content, which will include not only main story missions, but also new side quests, outfits, and more.

The new content will also be offered as DLC to those who already own the base version of the game, and though no final decisions have yet been made on release date and pricing, the report claims that the DLC could launch at some point in 2025 at a price point between $20 and $30.

Last Month, Warner Bros. Discovery’s CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels said that a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy was a priority for the company “a couple of years down the road”. Read more on that through here.

Hogwarts Legacy is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The game has sold over 24 million units as of this January.
