Insomniac Games was asked whether it would include a disc in the wake of Grand Theft Auto 6 not including one for its physical release.

In the wake of Grand Theft Auto 6 not including a disc for its physical release on November 19th, it looks like other companies have started to face the brunt of fan frustration. Insomniac Games was asked whether Marvel’s Wolverine – coming to PS5 on September 15th – will also be a code-in-the-box release, to which the studio responded by clarifying that its physical release will include a disc.

The question comes in light of many in the gaming fan base, from players to those focused on the conservation of the medium for historical purposes. Many tend to see the lack of an included disc for Grand Theft Auto 6 as a bad thing, since it means that the game will stop being available at some point in the future when servers storing its files are killed off.

Despite these concerns, however, Circana’s Mat Piscatella doesn’t think that the lack of a disc in the physical release will do much to impact the sales of Grand Theft Auto 6. He pointed to a variety of factors, like retailers not needing to worry about the second-hand games market, and the number of consoles in the world without disc drives.

“Anyways, devil’s advocate here, but given the % of PS5/XBS consoles out there without a disc drive, one could argue code in box may provide a better opportunity for retailers, particularly those that don’t sell used,” he wrote. “In any case, can’t say this changes anything regarding total sales expectations.”

Interestingly, this hasn’t been the only instance of Marvel’s Wolverine and Grand Theft Auto 6 being linked together in strange ways. Earlier this month, the resume of actor Brett Gipson had indicated that he was playing roles in both titles. Along with portraying Sabretooth in Marvel’s Wolverine, Gipson is reportedly also playing the role of a supporting character in Rockstar’s title – a character named Ellis.

Marvel’s Wolverine recently got an extended gameplay trailer where we got to see how Logan can rip his enemies to shred thanks to his adamantium claws and healing abilities. The trailer also confirmed that Logan will be able to team up with other characters, like Jean Grey and Sabretooth, throughout the adventure.

Insomniac Games has also confirmed that Marvel’s Wolverine will tell an entirely original story with some inspiration from the comics. It revolves around Logan setting off on a mission to regain his memories and, in the process, travelling to several locations, like Canada, Tokyo, and Madripoor, among others.

Despite the scale of the globe-trotting story, however, creative director Marcus Smith has confirmed that we won’t get to see the X-Men in the game. He also teased that the Spider-Man from the studio’s previous games might make an appearance.

“The important thing, I guess, is the X-Men don’t exist in our game,” he said. “We wanted to focus on a Wolverine storyline and really build it from that character and build a world that is in a state where mutants aren’t well known. They are known; they’re falling victim to people who do know about them and want to destroy them.”

Actor Brett Gipson revealed that he was involved in two major AAA releases that happen to be coming out in 2026 through his resume.

Actor Brett Gipson has revealed through his updated resume (via MP1st) that he is starring in two AAA video games coming out in 2026. Along with playing the role of Sabretooth in the Insomniac Games-developed Marvel’s Wolverine, Gipson is also playing a role in Rockstar Games’ upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6.

While the exact character he plays is unknown for now, since we still don’t know much about the upcoming game’s story, his resume says that it will be a supporting character named Ellis. He has also considered the role to be big enough to list on his resume alongside others like Jim Hopper in Stranger Things: Tales from ’85, and Sabretooth in Marvel’s Wolverine.

Since Ellis has been described as a supporting character by Gipson’s resume, it’s safe to assume that he will be a character that players get to encounter during their time in Grand Theft Auto 6’s Vice City and the state of Leonida. However, whether this character will be relegated to only a few side missions or if he plays an important role in the central storyline of the game remains to be seen.

The few details about Grand Theft Auto 6’s story that have been revealed confirm that it will revolve around a couple – Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval. While the former is an ex-convict and recently got out of Leonida Penitentiary, the latter has been described as a drug runner and racketeer who also happens to have military experience. The core story is set to feature a seemingly simple score going horribly wrong, and in the process, throwing our two protagonists into a web of criminal conspiracy that happens to span the entire state.

Rockstar Games recently confirmed that pre-orders for Grand Theft 6 will be starting on June 25th. In the process, the company also gave fans a new look at Vice City by posting a new fly-by video of the setting on its official website. The title is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19th.

As for Sabretooth, the character was showcased during a recent extended gameplay trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine. In an interview, game director Mike Daly confirmed that Sabretooth will have a “competitive dynamic” with Logan. “Whereas Jean Grey might give you an opportunity to get a kill, with Sabretooth fighting alongside you, it’s more like you think you’ve got a kill and he rushes in to steal it from you, and their combat banter brings out that dynamic and makes the whole fight more fun,” he explained.

The trailer itself also gave us a good look at just how violent and brutal Marvel’s Wolverine will be. Fans of more subtle details were also happy with the trailer, since it gave us a look at things like how detailed the fabric worn by characters was, and how impressive its real-time reflections looked.

Marvel’s Wolverine is being developed exclusively for the PS5, and is slated to hit store shelves on September 15th. A PC version is unlikely, since Sony has seemingly decided to go back to exclusive releases for its first-party single-player games.

It’s a good time as any for a fresh start, and a free new suit inspired by the upcoming film might be a great reason for a fresh play through.

It’s been a while since Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 won us over with its charming take on Peter Parker and Miles Morales’s efforts to save New York City from Venom, but it seems that Insomniac isn’t quite done with the game despite its attention being taken up by its upcoming release of Marvel’s Wolverine.

A Bluesky post has revealed that the studio plans to celebrate the July 31, 2026, release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day by releasing the Fresh Start suit for Peter Parker, which resembles the one Tom Holland sports in the film. Even better is the fact that it’s going to be a part of a free update that drops on July 28, 2026.

This one looks like it could be purely cosmetic with no additional passives or cool stuff going for it, but it’s still a good enough reason to dive back into a game that has given us so many fond memories, and take on everything it throws at us with some fresh new threads to make things even more stylish than they are in this one.

We did adore what it brought to the table in our review, and the game’s been quite a strong performer for Insomniac since it hit the shelves and eventually made its way to PC.

The game's creative director revealed that the story will involve the world not being fully aware of mutants, and being scared of them.

While the recent trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine included an appearance by Jean Grey, creative director Marcus Smith has revealed that the X-Men don’t exist in the game as a group. In an interview with Eurogamer, Smith spoke about the story of Marvel’s Wolverine and how the studio wanted to focus on Logan as the main character.

To take advantage of this focus, the story essentially revolves around the fact that mutants are still quite obscure for the world at large. This also means that mutants will face plenty of discrimination, especially at the hands of people who don’t know about them and want them to not exist.

Despite X-Men not showing up as a group in the story, Marvel’s Wolverine will still feature plenty of cameos from superheroes that have typically worked with, or against, Logan. This includes Jean Grey and Sabretooth, both of whom will feature to some extent in Marvel’s Wolverine.

“So, at the very beginning of the game, Logan actually belongs on a team called Team X, and he has teamed up with Sabretooth, who you see in the gameplay trailer,” said Smith. “But there are no X-Men. There will be a lot of Marvel characters that come into the storyline; so, we’ve already shown Mystique in the earlier trailer, we’ve shown Sabretooth, Jean Grey in this one, and players can expect to have a lot more throughout the game.”

Smith also went on to confirm that Marvel’s Wolverine takes place in the same universe at Marvel’s Spider-Man. However, the studio didn’t want to divert attention away from Logan. As such, any appearance by Spider-Man “will be some Easter-eggy sort of overlap,” Smith explained, “but there is no crossover between Spider-Man and Wolverine.”

On the gameplay side of things, director Mike Daily explained that Jean Grey has been designed to be an “important supplement” to Logan’s own abilities when the two have to team up together to manage enemies. Even outside of combat, Grey can help Logan out when he’s simply sneaking around, thanks to her telepathic powers.

“Even outside of these moments, though, she’s a capable combatant who can defend herself and take out enemies independently on the battlefield,” said Daly, “and as you go through the course of the game, Logan and Jean will team up more times. In stealth, in particular, you’ll be able to take advantage of some coordination between the two of you, using her telepathy to influence enemies.”

Sabretooth, on the other hand, has what has been described by Daly as “a little bit of a contentious relationship” with Logan. In gameplay, this relationship can be seen through the banter between the two characters.

“It’s fun to see them playing off of each other,” he said. “It’s almost a competitive spirit. Jean might use her telekinesis to open up an enemy to help you take them down [but] when you’re fighting with Sabretooth, it’s more like you thought you got the kill and he snatches it right out of your hands just to deny you the pleasure. It’s a different dynamic.”

Marvel’s Wolverine is being developed exclusively for the PS5, and is slated for release on September 15th. For more details, take a look at its various accessibility features, as well as how it will feature comic book-style pacing.

Insomniac sure knows how to bring superheroes to life, and September cannot get here faster after that extended showcase of Marvel’s Wolverine.

I’ve been waiting for a while to write this one, and I kind of knew it was coming. Marvel’s Wolverine has finally given us a glimpse of what it’s going to be like to step into Logan’s shoes, and the showcase we got at the recent State of Play has me convinced that we’ve got a banger on our hands. Let’s put aside the reveal of Jean Grey and Sabertooth for a minute, and the way the combat system feels like a comic book in motion.

It’s the game’s story, and the way its gameplay loop has directly addressed my concerns, that have me quite enthusiastic to dive into this one. Well, a lot more enthusiastic than I was before I witnessed the showcase’s magic unfold. But what’s made that the case? How have these two factors taken precedence over a couple of reveals that had me grinning from ear to ear? I’m more than happy to answer those questions. Scratch that. I’m delighted. Let’s go.

Getting Logan Right

It’s probably a good idea to start with what had me worried before I get into how those concerns have been addressed. I remember thinking about how Insomniac was going to incorporate the brutality that comes with any story involving good old Logan into its gameplay loop. The studio certainly couldn’t make things the way it did in the Spiderman titles for certain. Peter Parker and Miles Morales might have superhuman strength, but their moral compasses were way too black and white to accommodate the grey areas that Logan’s usually prowling.

There are a couple of reasons for why that became a point of debate for me. The first one was Logan’s healing factor, and the fact that enemies throwing punches at an immortal skeleton wasn’t going to end too well for them. That would leave us playing a character who was virtually invincible.

Secondly, there’s also the fact that Logan’s claws were going to tear through fools who were made of flesh and blood but were still either brave or dumb enough to stand in his way. How could a game’s combat system click if its rank-and-file enemies were nothing more than cannon (or claw, in this case) fodder? No amount of fancy animations could have saved this one from a level of wrath that even Logan would be proud of from its players if that was the case.

Third, I was hoping against hope that this story wasn’t going to bring in Logan’s amnesia. That’s a character beat that’s been whipped out far too often at this point, and I would rather have a version of Logan that was self-assured and already in possession of the full spectrum of his memories. I wanted a take on Wolverine that factored in the pain and loss of a virtually immortal being instead of the confusion and feral rage of a man without his memories.

Well, the story and combat have addressed all three of these in ways that have me very impressed. I was expecting a sort of compromise between Wolverine’s powers, and thought only of The Sentinels when I thought of beings capable of taking on the grizzled warrior. But things have changed, and definitely for the better.

The Right Narrative Framing

It’s time to get to the meat of things, and the story is a good place to start. Things are looking bleak for mutantkind in this world, and the situation that Logan is a part of in the showcase is quite grim. Helpless mutants being rounded up by operatives in the employ of Bolivar Trask definitely raised the stakes right off the bat for Logan.

But it’s who those operatives are that has me as excited for Wolverine as I am. They’re the Reavers, an anti-mutant group that’s had a long history with the X-Men in the comics, and are probably the best equipped group to try and put a stop to Logan’s rampages in the game. I’m almost certain we’re going to meet Donal Pierce at some point, and the fact that Trask is a part of the whole thing is a great way of explaining why mutants are being rounded up without having to say a word.

That takes care of the potential pitfall of enemies falling too easy to Logan’s attacks. The Reavers are capable of putting up a good fight, and we even see Logan take quite a beating from one of the larger ones in the group, which forces him to unleash his rage and accelerate his healing factor (more on that in a bit). They’re well-trained and well-equipped, and I can’t wait to take them on when the game drops, if only to uncover more of their plans and perhaps fight a few of their high-ranking members.

There’s also the Jean Grey reveal, and the seemingly solid working relationship she shares with Logan in the game. They look like they’ve been trying to uncover the truth behind mutant kidnappings, while Insomniac has revealed that they are part of Team X, a task force of sorts that is now all that stands between the mutants and those who would seek to harm them. It’s in how Logan interacts with her that has captured my interest, though.

They seem quite comfortable with each other, which not only helps ease my concerns about a narrative where Logan doesn’t know who he is, while also setting up the scope for some very visceral combat moves. Jean isn’t holding back in this one, and I’m wondering whether the Phoenix is going to come into play at some point. That certainly would be a challenge for Logan’s healing factor, and it could make for an incredible set-piece too.

Of course, there’s apparently no shortage of set-pieces in this one, which brings me to the game’s combat system.

Visceral and Satisfying

It’s rare to see a combat system that’s satisfying just to watch, but here we are. Like Jean, Logan’s cutting loose in this one and it’s a facet of the experience that I’m absolutely delighted by. The Reavers can bear the brunt of his attacks just enough to dish out some damage of their own, and that balances out the dilemma of Logan being nigh on unstoppable in this one.

But of course, he heals, and does so at a pace that any normal foe would be hard-pressed to keep up with. But it’s looking like his healing factor is directly tied to his rage, in a system that looks like a solid balance between accelerated healing and some truly stunning takedowns, both of which look quite reliant on keeping Logan’s temper at optimal levels in order to make the most of the Berserker in him.

But he’s also more than able to take a quiet approach, which adds another layer of tactical thinking to the gameplay loop. It looks quite similar to what was on offer in Spiderman although Insomniac may have a few surprises up its sleeve on that front in the run-up to the game’s release. But the real star of the show for me was the ability to coordinate attacks with your fellow companions.

Jean and Logan brought some moves that reflect extensive time spent in the field fighting off bad guys, an indicator of their time as part of Team X, and hopefully as members of the X-Men if the story has the space for that kind of thing. It’s a perfect extension of my joy at finding out that Logan has his memories. An unfortunate offshoot of that particular problem was that he was unwilling to place his trust in others, and often operated as a lone wolf whose people skills were dismal, to put it kindly.

However, he seems gruffly okay with whatever arrangement he has with his comrades in this one, and it’s a take on the character that could showcase his value as a loose cannon capable of unleashing controlled chaos on the battlefield. Insomniac seems to have its finger on the pulse of what has made Wolverine tick as a character over the years, and is using that knowledge to give us a version of him that seems fresh yet comfortingly familiar.

It’s a kind of balance that looks like it could bring Logan straight from the pages of our favorite comics to a game that blends the best of them with an original story that seems tailor-made to make fans of the character very happy indeed. And it’s Marvel Wolverine’s biggest strength at this point.

It’s why I’m very optimistic about this one’s chances, and the reason I’m going to pre-order it as soon as I possibly can. I expect to be talking about this one a lot once September comes along, but for now, all I can do is wait as patiently as I can for a title that I’ve been looking forward to for years. I’ve now lost my reservations about it in the last couple of hours, and you can be sure I’ll be joining you for the adventure later this year.

The upcoming PS5-exclusive title will also include options for levels of violence, and even remappable controls with a few presets.

Shortly after showcasing the gameplay of Marvel’s Wolverine, developer Insomniac Games has now updated its website to reveal the kinds of accessibility options that will be available when the title hits the PS5 on September 15th. The studio has noted that these features will be available in Marvel’s Wolverine either on-disc or through a day-one patch.

The sheer number of accessibility options that will be available in Marvel’s Wolverine is quite staggering, with the features split up into a few categories – Gameplay Assists, Motion Sensitivity, Visual Assists, Audio Assists, High Contrast Options, Violence Customization, Subtitles and Captions, and Controller and Layout.

Gameplay Assists will include options like presets for various challenge levels, which can be further fine-tuned to adjust how quickly enemies can detect the player while in stealth, how much health enemies have, and how much damage they can deal. There will also be options for autocompleting quick-time events, UI hold settings, and the use of the DualSense Touch Pad in combat.

Motion Sensitivity will feature options that allow player to adjust things like Motion Blur, Film Grain, Depth of Field, and Fullscreen Effects. Along with these options, players will also have the choice of adjusting the size, color, and opacity of a persistent dot in the center of the screen that provides a solid focal point. These can be paired up with the Visual Assists features for players with impaired vision, complete with options for Senses color customization across Dodge, Threat, and Parry timings.

For more visual options, the High Contrast Options section will include a variety of presets, and players can dive deeper into the settings to apply friendly characters and enemies with distinct solid-colored outlines and shaders to help with clearer identification. Audio Assists include options for voice boost, screen readers, audio descriptions, frequency controls, and mono audio.

Interestingly, Marvel’s Wolverine will allow for extensive controller remapping, complete with a few presets being available at launch. Players can also switch around the shortcuts that will be available on the D-pad buttons, as well as the level of force and tension offered by the DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers.

Tying into what the studio recently said about the level of gore in Marvel’s Wolverine being adjustable, an entire Violence Customization section will be available in the game’s options menu that allows players to toggle visibility of things like blood, dismemberment, and even the visual effects behind Logan’s healing capabilities.

Marvel’s Wolverine’s extended gameplay trailer showcased quite a bit of action from the upcoming title, ranging from Logan tearing apart groups of regular enemies to getting into a major fight with a big opponent. Through this, the trailer also gave us a look at how Logan’s healing factor works in and out of combat. We also got to see him team up with Jean Grey at one point, who could use her telepathic powers to contribute to fights.

Insomniac Games has also confirmed that Marvel’s Wolverine is going to be a linear game that takes Logan on a globe-hopping adventure, and that it will be paced in a similar manner to comic books.

Game director Mike Daly spoke about how the studio didn't want to create an open-world sandbox-styled game in Marvel's Wolverine.

Game director Mike Daly. While Insomniac Games’ recent showcase of the upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine may have indicated that it might be a more linear title than the studio’s previous superhero outings, game director Mike Daly has revealed some more details about the game’s pacing and structure. In an interview with IGN, he compared the title’s pacing quite directly with what we typically get from comic books.

The reason behind this largely comes down to the studio asking itself what would make for the best Wolverine game possible that also happens to appropriately represent the character of Logan.

“We thought about, Logan’s a character who basically travels the world, has travelled the world many times over,” Daly said. “He’s pulled by a search for his past. He’s pushed by a sense of duty. And to that end, we decided that a globe-hopping adventure was the right take for this game. Logan is not a character that’s anchored in a particular place and spends a lot of time on it.”

“So what you can expect out of the game is that we’ve created a comic book-style pacing, dense story, that’s like a rollercoaster, and it grips you from beginning to end. And generally speaking, you’re driven through all of these missions by important events and plot points that are happening.”

This also means that the gameplay showcase during Sony’s recent State of Play is “kind of representative” of the whole game. Throughout Marvel’s Wolverine, players will find themselves exploring new regions, since Logan is often pulled to entirely different parts of the world. Daly has also confirmed that stealth will be completely optional, and that the game will be more than happy to let players constantly jump into combat encounters.

“So in that sense, what you saw in the gameplay trailer was kind of representative,” he explained. “Logan’s got a lead, he’s got a direction, but he has agency in how he decides to approach it. The areas have different paths you could take. Stealth is optional; you could do it or you could not do it, you could jump straight into combat. And you can poke your nose around the nooks and crannies of the world to find things here and there, and some optional content and collectibles along the way.”

“We sought to have a large amount of variety in the feel of the different environments that you go to. And so that changes the pacing and the shape of how you navigate space and how you explore. And that leads to different flavors of gameplay as well, where some are more about observation and traversal, some are more about finding characters to interact with, and a lot of them are about stalking enemies and taking them out.”

When asked about whether there will be many sandbox-styled areas in Marvel’s Wolverine, Daly confirmed that the studio had never set out to make an open world or sandbox-styled game to begin with. “What we really wanted was a high-octane, high-intrigue, linear single-player adventure, and the missions reflect that in their structure,” he said.

Marvel’s Wolverine is coming to PS5 on September 15th. For more details, check out the fact that the title allows players to turn off the gore, and how the relationship between Logan and Sabertooth will play out.

"When you look at the aspects of the character and all the stories he's been through, it's clear that violence was a key part of that."

A lot has come to light about Marvel’s Wolverine, from Logan’s mission to his various skills when fighting against the Reavers. We’ve seen Jean Grey enter the fray, providing assistance and causing plenty of her own damage, and some of the high-octane set pieces that Insomniac Games is known for. But almost everyone’s first reaction was to the visceral amount of gore.

Yes, the initial gameplay trailer highlighted the sheer brutality that Wolverine is capable of. But this was on another level, especially when it came to the realistic damage that Logan could take. Fortunately, ever since the “inception of the project,” Insomniac never wavered.

“We knew that the number one most important thing was to bring the Wolverine fantasy to life. Not just that, but make it the ultimate Wolverine fantasy,” said game director Mike Daly to IGN. “And when you look at the aspects of the character and all the stories he’s been through in his history, it was clear that violence was a key part of that. So that was never really in question, and it was kind of baked into how we made decisions from the very beginning. So we knew that we were going to have to bring that out in gameplay, put it in your hands as a player, make it a part of the story.

“But at the same time, Insomniac Games, we want to have a grounded world with believable things that happen. So we didn’t want to go over the top. We really wanted to hit the bullseye on what is the best representation of Wolverine, what delivers fan expectations, and what’s going to keep the claw combat action satisfying over the whole course of the playthrough.”

The result is an “unapologetically violent” experience. “We knew it would have to accomplish that in order to accomplish our ultimate mission. And because of that, the gameplay retains satisfaction.”

For those who feel that it’s too much – and undoubtedly to appear to a wider audience – there will be an option to turn off the gore. “Now all that being said, we know that it’s not for everyone. And because we knew this was going to be a big part of the game from the beginning, we also implemented an accessibility feature to turn off gore. It’s clearly integrated into the game in a lot of different ways, and so it’s a nuanced feature that is very selective about what we show, what we censor, turning off blood and things like that, just in order to make it more palatable to people who don’t really want to have that part of the experience.”

Launching on September 15th, Marvel’s Wolverine is certainly an interesting take on the classic anti-hero. Though it’s an all-new story, it actually picks up three years after Logan left his team, as he scours the globe, saving mutants from the Reavers.

Along the way, he fights alongside the likes of Jean Grey and, surprisingly, Sabretooth, his on-again, off-again nemesis from the comics. Rather than battling Wolverine, he’ll actually help out in a “competitive” manner, potentially stealing kills and bantering back and forth. Daly teased other allies to team with, but we’ll have to wait to find out.

Could Intergalactic resurface on June 2nd? Time will tell, but insider NateTheHate claims appearances from other first-party titles.

While Sony has confirmed that its upcoming State of Play on June 2nd will include a “closer look” at Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Wolverine, according to known leaker NateTheHate, the showcase will also feature other PS5-exclusives. Unfortunately, he didn’t provide too many details about which exclusives will be included, simply replying “Yes” to a fan asking if “other exclusives” will be showcased at the event or whether it will only include Marvel’s Wolverine and the rumored God of War spin-off.

Aside from confirming the presence of Marvel’s Wolverine at the State of Play, Sony has been tight-lipped about what else fans can expect to see during the showcase. This has led to plenty of speculation, including the idea that we might finally see some gameplay from Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic. Other titles expected to make an appearance include Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, and Bungie’s PvPvE extraction shooter Marathon, which is kicking off its second season, NIGHTFALL, on the same day.

Reports of a new God of War being announced this year have been going around for quite some time, and previous rumors had indicated that it would be showcased in April. “I also heard separately, like last month, that the God of War was due to be announced very soon, and in April,” said Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson last month.

As for what this God of War game would entail, another rumor has indicated that it might include mythological elements outside of its Greek and Norse trappings, bringing in Chinese and Japanese elements as well. Along with this, Mayan aspects are also expected to show up.

As for Marvel’s Wolverine, it’s slated for release on September 15th exclusively on the PS5. It is expected to cost $69.99, keeping it in line with other first-party PlayStation games. However, Insomniac Games hasn’t opened up pre-orders for it yet. In a social media post, the studio said, “We want to show you more of the game first,” when asked about why pre-orders hadn’t started.

Sony has made it clear that it expects Marvel’s Wolverine to be one of its tentpole releases in 2026. Back in November 2025, CFO Lin Tao had confirmed this during an investor call. When asked about whether the company expects the November 19th release of Grand Theft Auto 6 to have a tangible impact on Sony’s software sales, Tao said that Marvel’s Wolverine will serve as a major anchor for the company in terms of the upside it provides.

Not too many details have been revealed about Marvel’s Wolverine aside from a gameplay trailer, which showcased the brutality of the game’s combat, complete with Logan having the ability to dismember his foes.

However, we do have an idea of how long it has been in development. Voice actor for protagonist James “Logan” Howlett, Liam J McIntyre, said that he had been working on the project “for almost as long as my son has been alive.”

While Nadji Jeter, who voices Miles Morales, claims it was scrapped, Bloomberg's Jason Schreier seemingly reports otherwise.

Fans of Insomniac Games will have Marvel’s Wolverine, which offers a new standalone story for the fan-favorite hero, and that’s only the beginning. An X-Men game and Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 are also allegedly in the works, but one has to wonder: Whatever happened to the rumored Venom game, where players would control the anti-hero from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2?

It was never confirmed, but considering everything else from the developer’s infamous ransomware leak (aside from the post-launch single-player DLC and live service title The Great Web), you would figure it would have been announced by now. In an interview with Love It Film on YouTube, Miles Morales’ voice actor Nadji Jeter revealed that it was in the works but ultimately didn’t happen due to the passing of Tony Todd (who voiced Venom).

However, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier claimed on ResetEra that it wasn’t true. Which part exactly – whether it’s the project’s cancellation or the reason – was not explicitly stated. But regardless, until Insomniac says otherwise, speculation about the project will continue.

In the meantime, the studio will be revealing more about Marvel’s Wolverine this Spring, after which pre-orders will presumably open. It’s coming to PS5 on September 15th, and unfortunately, much like Saros and Ghost of Yōtei, you probably shouldn’t hold your breath for a PC release.
