Jump Over the Age is currently focused on bringing French, Simplified Chinese and Japanese localization to Citizen Sleeper 2.

While other titles have taken precedence lately, Jump Over the Age’s Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector kicked off the year as one of its most critically acclaimed titles. In a new Steam Community post, the developer announced that both titles have crossed two million players.

It also revealed some interesting statistics, like six percent of players integrating into the fungal network and 1.5 percent leaving Lem and Mina behind in the first game. For the sequel, 35 percent got lucky with a glitched dice, while only 1.5 percent completed it on Dangerous difficulty.

Besides Spindlejack, a tabletop RPG spin-off, there are seemingly no plans for future entries. However, Jump Over the Age will support Citizen Sleeper 2 with French, Japanese and Simplified Chinese localization. The title is also discounted on Steam by 20 percent until May 14th.

Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch alongside Game Pass. Check out our review here.

Embody a new Sleeper and traverse the Starward Belt to repair your failing body on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Jump Over The Age’s Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, a sequel to the critically narrative RPG, is out later today. In the meantime, publisher Fellow Traveller has released a launch trailer, hyping up the imminent journey through the Starward Belt. Check it out below.

Like the first game, players control a Sleeper, who escapes from a corporation and a gang led by the villainous Laine. The downside is that their body is deteriorating, so they take on contracts across the Belt to find a solution (and potentially recover their memories). With a ship and recruitable allies at your disposal, up to two joining on jobs and lending their skills to tasks, the sequel offers more locations to explore.

The choice is ultimately yours, whether to “Push” your luck and take on riskier jobs or get closer to your allies. Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector will launch for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch alongside Game Pass. Check out our review here – we gave it a nine out of ten.

Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector improves on its predecessor in nearly every way imaginable.

I slept on Citizen Sleeper when it originally released in 2022, and it wasn’t until a couple of years after its launch that I finally played it. But though I came to it a little late, I instantly fell in love with it. Combining a fascinating and deeply imaginative sci-fi universe, incredible writing and storytelling, and compelling choice-driven gameplay that revolved around a unique dice rolls system, indie studio Jump Over the Age’s RPG instantly had its hooks in me. I may have initially slept on the first game, but I decided I wasn’t going to make that same mistake with its sequel.

I’m glad I did, because Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector is fantastic. It takes everything that was good about its predecessor and smartly builds on it, delivering what feels like an even more engaging and fleshed out experience. From the stellar writing and world-building to the dangerously addictive time management, choice-driven, dice rolls gameplay loop, the sequel retains all of the first game’s biggest strengths. At the same time, with smart tweaks, improvements, and additions, it also expands on everything from the progression mechanics to player choice systems and more. The end result is a stellar sci-fi RPG that manages to capture lightning in a bottle yet again.

"Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector is fantastic. It takes everything that was good about its predecessor and smartly builds on it, delivering what feels like an even more engaging and fleshed out experience."

Citizen Sleeper 2 once again puts players in the shoes of a Sleeper – robots who have had human minds and consciousness uploaded into them – and one again, you have fled from the clutches of the corporation that owns and enslaves you. This time, however, you’re joined by a crew, have a ship of your own, and have different threats bearing down on you. Chased by your corporate masters, as well as by a criminal faction looking to control you, and having to deal with a failing and glitching body, Citizen Sleeper 2 tasks you with once again building a life for yourself and finding an escape. This time, however, the focus is just as much on gathering a crew, improving your ship, and taking on different jobs scattered throughout the Starward Belt.

On one hand, not being tied to a single location like the original game was does feel like a bit of a loss. I loved exploring and slowly but surely growing familiar with the Eye and its ever-expanding environs in Citizen Sleeper, and I’ll admit that I do feel the lack of a similar, single location that spans the entire game. Then again, what Citizen Sleeper 2 gains in exchange comes with its own benefits. Your ship, for instance, is still very much a single location that you call home. Slowly improving and expanding its capabilities and getting better acquainted with your crewmates remains quite satisfying throughout the game.

Having constant access to a ship means you’re also moving around a lot in Citizen Sleeper 2. Scattered throughout the Starward Belt are a number of different contracts and quests that take you to different asteroids, stations, ruins, and more. The greater location variety lends the game a greater sense of scale, and also shakes up the familiar core loop in interesting ways. At its core, Citizen Sleeper 2 still tasks you with managing your dice and energy as you make use of limited actions every in-game day to advance quests, earn money, explore, and just plain survive, but each contract breaks up that cycle with its own minicycles.

"Having constant access to a ship means you’re also moving around a lot in Citizen Sleeper 2. Scattered throughout the Starward Belt are a number of different contracts and quests that take you to different asteroids, stations, ruins, and more. The greater location variety lends the game a greater sense of scale, and also shakes up the familiar core loop in interesting ways."

Success in contracts is determined by a variety of factors, from what your crew composition is and how smartly (or not) you use your dice, to how well stocked your ship is with supplies and more. Being locked into a contract once you’ve accepted it does admittedly feel a little limiting, which sort of goes against everything that Citizen Sleeper’s design is about, but on the whole, they succeed in injecting much greater quest variety into the game.

Of course, a lot of the credit there has to go to the writing. After the first game, it should be no surprise that that is the area where Citizen Sleeper 2 probably shines the brightest. Every character you meet in the diverse, wonderfully realized cast makes a strong mark, every scene and dialogue conversation is immaculately written, every dialogue choice or decision you’re asked to make feels deliberate. The game weaves a captivating tale that’s hard to tear yourself away from, and also uses its more expansive setting to flesh out and reveal more of the universe’s lore and backstory. Narratively, then, Citizen Sleeper 2 is a triumph yet again.

The moment-to-moment time and resource management mechanics that form the backbone of the experience also see some changes for the better. For instance, the first game’s Condition system has been replaced with a new Stress system. In Citizen Sleeper 2, though you’re still managing your energy by making sure you’re eating regularly, unlike the first game, you’re no longer dependent on stabilizers, which means your body isn’t in a constantly deteriorating condition. That said, taking Stress damage on failed actions now impacts the health of individual dice, which, once fully depleted, renders that dice unusable until you find a way to repair it.

The Stress system definitely feels a little less strict than the Condition system in terms of how it punishes failure and how much it restricts your actions, which works wonderfully with the greater sense of freedom that the rest of the game affords as well. Those restrictions, meanwhile, now take other forms, like glitches that your body accumulates overtime, in turn glitching some of your dice to dramatically increase their failure rates. It’s a smartly implemented system that manages to retain a sense of risk and reward while ensuring that players don’t ever feel too throttled.

"For fans of the first game, for fans of RPGs, for fans of choice-driven gameplay, and for fans of the sci-fi genre, Jump Over the Age’s sophomore outing is an easy game to recommend."

Citizen Sleeper 2 also introduces skill checks, allowing players to choose special actions during certain scenes that work the same as dice rolls and see the story being impacted by your choices and branching in interesting ways. On the progression side of things, meanwhile, the game introduces a new Push system, which grants special abilities to each class, granting each of them different tactical advantages (depending on how you use them, that is). Like its predecessor, Citizen Sleeper 2 keeps its progression systems lean and focused, but every upgrade that you make feels meaningful and genuinely impactful.

Whether its the day-to-day gameplay cycle, the progression mechanics and class differentiations, or even how quests function, the running theme in Citizen Sleeper 2 is one of smart, iterative improvements that take its predecessor’s winning formula and hone it to near-perfection. That “one more day” hook that characterized the first game so well is still very much present and accounted for in the sequel, to the point where it may be an even stronger and more addictive force than it was the first time around. Combined with its stellar writing, engrossing worldbuilding, and expert storytelling, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector sticks the landing in every way that counts. For fans of the first game, for fans of RPGs, for fans of choice-driven gameplay, and for fans of the sci-fi genre, Jump Over the Age’s sophomore outing is an easy game to recommend. Absolutely do not sleep on Citizen Sleeper 2.

Jump Over the Age and Fellow Traveller's sci-fi narrative RPG launches on January 31 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Citizen Sleeper ranks as one of the best (and most unique) modern RPGs around, and with excitement continuing to build around the looming launch of its sequel, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, its developer has announced that the project has hit another major milestone behind the scenes.

Taking to BlueSky, Citizen Sleeper creator Gareth Damian Martin recently announced that Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector has gone gold. That means the team at Jump Over the Age has wrapped up development on the upcoming sci-fi RPG, with any work done on it from this point forward presumably coming in the form of pre-launch or day one patches. Either way, as Martin points out, the next major milestone that the game will hit will be its release, which isn’t too far away now.

Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector launches on January 31, as announced last week at the PC Gaming Show. Upon release, the RPG will be available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

As a new Sleeper, players must survive in the Helion System's Starward Belt, taking on jobs and managing the fallout of an ongoing war.

Jump Over the Age’s Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector has received a new trailer, with snippets showcasing new characters and risky decisions on deep space jobs. It also confirms the RPG’s launch on January 31st, 2025, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Though occurring in the Helion System, players control a new Sleeper attempting to escape their corporate shackles. Things go wrong, but you have a ship and crewmates to help navigate the Starward Belt, taking on contracts. Each brings different skills to the foray, but you also need to take care of your body while dealing with the fallout of a war between two corporations.

Much like the original, you’ll rely on Dice to make decisions, with success leading to rewards and failure resulting in Stress and other effects. A new Push feature allows for pushing one’s luck and attempt to sway the odds in their favor. Check out the previous trailer (which highlights some of your crewmates) and stay tuned for more updates.

However, you can also expect several announcements, trailers, and behind-the-scenes videos, with titles like Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, Killing Floor 3 and The Thing: Remastered appearing. With the first two out in 2025 and Nightdive’s remaster due this year, perhaps we’ll see some release dates (or a potential delay).

On top of all this, Strange Scaffold of El Paso, Elsewhere, and I Am Your Beast will present “something special.” With over 75 titles at the show, the possibility of even more surprises is fairly high. Stay tuned for updates and live coverage next month.

PC players can explore Hexport, the first location in the upcoming role-playing game when the Steam Next Fest returns next week.

Jump Over the Age’s Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, a sequel to its acclaimed 2022 RPG, is out early next year, but PC players won’t have to wait long to go hands-on. A limited-time demo will be available during the upcoming Steam Next Fest from October 14th to 21st, providing a look at the opening.

As the titular Sleeper, players venture to Hexport, the game’s first location, to repair their stolen ship. The goal is to escape before hostile forces catch up with you, which means interacting with all kinds of characters. Who you trust ultimately determines the direction of your story.

Players can choose a class and skills while putting their crew together and taking on Contracts. While familiar mechanics like dice rolls, Stress, and glitches return, players can use the new Push feature, which, as the name indicates, lets you push your luck. It may not always pan out, however.

Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector is coming to Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, PS5, and Nintendo Switch. It will also launch day one on Game Pass.

Bring the right crewmates for a job, whether Nia and her drone proficiency or Yu-Jin and his stress threshold, lest things go wrong.

Jump Over The Age’s Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector appeared briefly during the PC Gaming Show with some new gameplay. It also received a release window of early 2025 for PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

After the events of the first game, the Sleeper and his crew explore The Belt, accepting contracts for different jobs. Not all of them are kosher and require unique skills to complete (lest things go wrong, as seen in the trailer). While Juni doesn’t work out, Nia is proficient with a drone. On the other hand, Yu-Jin has a high stress threshold and can soldier through some necessary choices.

You can take two crewmates on a job and make choices depending on the dice rolls available. Others are available, each with different backstories and skill sets, and there are multiple quadrants to explore. However, if there’s one guarantee, it’s nothing in The Belt ever runs smoothly. Stay tuned for more details on Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector in the coming months.

Developer Jump Over the Age has confirmed that like is predecessor, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector will launch day one on Game Pass.

Citizen Sleeper was one of 2022’s biggest sleeper (sorry) hits, so when developer Jump Over the Age and publisher Fellow Traveller announced a sequel earlier this year, the news was naturally met with plenty of excitement. And though details on what platforms Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector will be targeting weren’t shared at the time, there is more clarity on that front now.

In an Xbox Wire post, Jump Over the Age founder Gareth Damian Martin has confirmed that Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector will also be releasing for Xbox consoles, alongside its previously-confirmed PC version. Additionally, Martin has also confirmed that like the original Citizen Sleeper, the upcoming RPG sequel will also be a day one Game Pass release on both PC and Xbox.

Meanwhile, the original Citizen Sleeper will also remain on Game Pass for all subscribers to access and play.

A release date has yet to be announced for Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, while it also remains to be seen if the game will get a simultaneous PlayStation launch, unlike its predecessor, which launched for PS5 and PS4 nearly a year after its original release.

Corporate war heats up in the Helion System as the Sleeper ventures outside Helion's Eye with a ship and crew to explore.

Jump Over The Age has announced a sequel to its critically acclaimed Citizen Sleeper. Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector goes beyond the Erlin’s Eye station and into the Helion System. Check out the first trailer below from the PC Gaming Show.

Corporate war is going on as various factions vie for supremacy. After escaping from a gang, you get a ship and crew and can go anywhere in the system. The ship is your home, and you take on contracts while interacting with a rich cast of characters. Like the first game, the Sleeper’s body must be maintained, but how that happens remains to be seen, especially given one’s fugitive status.

Further details, including a release date, have yet to be revealed, so stay tuned for more details. Citizen Sleeper is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch. It recently received the final episode of its free DLC trilogy.
