Voice actor Brian Hadford, better known for voicing V in Devil May Cry 5, whipped fans into a frenzy yesterday after tweeting about the “next #CapcomVS game”. While the tweet could be interpreted in several different ways, many assumed it was hinting at a new title. After all, Capcom has had some outstanding crossover fighters in its history – why wouldn’t fans get excited?

Hadford issued a follow-up tweet, however, and noted that he has “NO KNOWLEDGE of any new Capcom games or the potential of what any of their games may entail. This tweet was about me being a big fan & seeing an Instagram ad about Capcom characters. Again, please understand, I am in no way teasing or revealing info.”

Hadford’s clarification doesn’t necessarily mean a new Capcom Vs title isn’t in development. However, if people assumed that it could be revealed soon, then this follow-up removes any possibility. Then again, if Marvel vs. Capcom 2 managed to get into EVO 2020 after years of fan requests, maybe there’s hope yet for a sequel.

The last major Capcom VS title was Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, which released in September 2017 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. It faced a number of criticisms at launch for its gameplay, limited roster and shabby presentation. Several updates since released have helped to improve it, though it’s still considered on the lower end of Capcom’s best.

Capcom has gone berserk and released an hour and ten minutes long gameplay video of Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 from its gamescom live feed. It’s awesome, and even though we’ve basically played this game this very year, it’s got me excited.

Gematsu came across a listing on Amazon France for Marvel vs Capcom 3 on Sony’s upcoming handheld system, PS Vita. The game, if the listing is accurate, will be the second Capcom fighter to be released on the Vita, along with Street Fighter x Tekken.

We absolutely loved Marvel vs Capcom 3 when it came out earlier this year for the PS3 and XBox 360. Here is our review.

Capcom has announced an ultimate edition of their recent fighter, Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, called, quite predictably, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3.

According to Amazon, the new edition will add twelve more fighters to the roster, taking the grand total to a complete 50.  Ghost Rider, Strider, Hawkeye and Firebrand are amongst the new characters that will be added to the roster.

Capcom also announced they will be making some tweaks to the online modes of the game to make competitive play more balanced.

A “Spectator Mode” will also be included in the package. “An overall improved online experience along with other new modes and enhancements” is promised.

Fans of incredible cross-over fighter MVC3 will be dissapointed to here that the game will recieve no more downloadable content.

Following a few extra modes, characters and costumes since the game’s Februrary launch, Capcom have tweeted saying “MvsC3 is out, done and dusted, no further announcements planned.”

As much as I usually find DLC to be an elabourate rip-off, I must say I’m slightly gutted about this one.

The recently released fighter, Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, has now shipped 2 million units.

“With an 11 year gap between the last entry in the Marvel vs. Capcom series, demand for a sequel was at an all-time high, and expectations were soaring. Capitalizing on the resurgence of the fighting game boom that began last year, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 was able to exceed its predecessor and ship 2 million units worldwide,” Capcom said in a statement, clearly pleased with their game’s performance, which was released only last month with an 11 month hiatus for the series.

Alright well we already know that Jill Valentine from Resident Evil and Shuma-Gorath will be DLC characters for Marvel vs Capcom 3, free for people that pre-ordered the game.  Now it would make sense for Capcom to release more characters seeing as how well the game has done and is doing.  From the deepest darkest hole in the Capcom Headquarters sneaks out a pic of Frank West and Strider as characters in the game.. or maybe is just a fake pic with someone laughing it up somewhere.  Either way it seems perfectly logical and plausible for these characters to be added to the roster for DLC.  So you decide from the pic above that has been floating around the internet.
