Alongside a new story quest focused on New Year and Astra’s performance at Starloop, it adds two new gameplay modes – Endless Tower: The Last Stand and Perpetrator Battle. A new Arcade game, Mach 25, will also be available, and there’s even fishing. As for Astra, she’s an S-Rank Support who deals Ether damage. She can also heal her teammates, a first for the action title.

Other new features include the ability to equip alternate outfits for characters. Astra, Ellen, and Nicole are the first recipients, while a new dress-up mini-game will also be available. Stay tuned for more details when the update goes live in the coming weeks.

He’ll be available to claim before Version 1.6 drops. Miyabi is available until January 21st, 2025, and serves as an Ice Anomaly Agent who’s deadly with a sword. Version 1.4 also brings other new content, including revamped Main Story stages up to Chapter 3, and Chapter 5, where players work together with Section 6.

You can also switch to other available Agents to roam New Eridu and even enable Quality Time to have Belle and Wise hang out with them. Combat has also seen a big change where team members get their own Ultimates instead of having one available at any given time.

Referred to as The Eternal Land, it’s home to the Chrysos Heirs, who participate in the Flame-Chase (a reference to the Flame-Chasers from Honkai Impact 3rd). Though multiple Paths converge in Amphoreus, the most notable is Remembrance, with new characters like Aglaea following the same.

The Path is about summons called Memosprites, which the Trailblazer will receive. How the story will play out remains unknown, but until Version 3.2, players can select a free 5-star Standard character as part of Gift of the Express. They’ll also have the option of utilizing Wishful Resin to target specific Relic rolls.

Based on the teaser image (and leaks thus far), it seems that Hoshimi Miyabi, the chief of Section 6 and the youngest ever “Void Hunter”, will be the next limited 5-star character. She’s allegedly an Anomaly character who deals Ice damage and is one of the most anticipated arrivals in the free-to-play action title.

Asaba Harumasa, another member of Section 6 and an alleged Electric Specialty character, is also reportedly coming with the update. Rumors indicate that he’ll be available for free (with an asset for the same discovered recently), but stay tuned for more details. If that wasn’t enough, Zenless Zone Zero is allegedly coming to Xbox Series X/S alongside Version 1.4 later this month.

Its main mechanic resolves around Memosprites, summons with different abilities (which characters like Sunday can boost). You meet various characters in Amphoreus who follow the Path of the Remembrance, with the lore video below hinting at the debut of Honkai: Star Rail’s version of the Flame-Chasers.

Other noteworthy features include updates to the Relic System, with players able to use a new material called Wishful Resin. With Self-Modeling Resin, you can set a Relic’s main and sub-stats, making it much less frustrating to target rolls. Finally, there’s “Gift of the Express”, available from Version 2.7 until Version 3.2 closes out and lets players choose a 5-star character from the Standard Banner.

Version 3.0 doesn’t have a release date, but it arrives after Version 2.7, which could mean early 2025. Stay tuned for more details.

The story sees the Astral Express preparing to journey to Amphoreus, the mysterious Eternal Land, stopping by Penacony one last time. However, Sunday suddenly re-emerges and seeks a performance for his own reasons. What this could mean remains to be seen, but another mystery surfaces in Fugue. Following the events of Version 1.2, she’s restored thanks to Ruan Mei. Players will escort her back to the Xianzhou Luofu, though it won’t be straightforward.

As for their skills, Sunday is an Imaginary character on the Path of the Harmony. He can forward allies’ actions and increase their damage. Meanwhile, his Ultimate can restore energy for a single party member and boost their Critical Damage. Fugue is a Fire character of the Nihility who hits enemies with Cloudflame Luster at the start of battle, which deals Weakness Break Damage upon hitting zero. Her Ultimate also dishes out Fire damage and shaves away enemy toughness.

Both are five-star characters, with Sunday acting as an Imaginary Harmony unit and Fugue as a Fire Nihility unit. The former is significant for playing a major role in the Penacony incident when Version 2.0 dropped earlier this year. Meanwhile, the latter used to be Tingyun, serving on the Xianzhou Luofu before it was revealed in Version 1.2 that her identity had been “stolen.”

Flying Flame, who accurately leaks characters arriving in future updates, reported the Xbox Series X/S version allegedly arriving with Patch 1.4. The latter is out on December 18th, and with The Game Awards happening on December 13th, a surprise announcement wouldn’t be too far-fetched.

However, the patch could add support with the Xbox Series X/S version going live in January once the exclusivity period ends. Time will tell, of course, so stay tuned for more details. A new commission from the Hollow Investigate Association sees players working with Section 6 and Deputy Chief Tsukishiro Yanagi. Meanwhile, they can also celebrate Settlement Days with Lighter from the Sons of Calydon. Both characters will have Special Episodes and dedicated banners, with Yanagi acting as an S-level Anomaly character who deals Electric damage.

Lighter is also S-level and specializes in Stun and Fire damage. Two new A-level Bangboo – Baddieboo and Knightboo – will also be available. Other content includes new modes like the roguelike Mystery of Arpeggio Fault and Simulated Battle Trial, a tower with progressively more challenging enemies.

As if that wasn’t enough, new events and decorations for Random Play’s second floor will also be available. Stay tuned for more details when the update arrives next month.

Available for PS5, PC, iOS, and Android, Zenless Zone Zero is a hack-and-slash action RPG with rogue-lite elements. Set in the post-apocalyptic New Eridu, players control Phaethon, the hacking duo of Wise and Belle, as they venture into the Hollows for various jobs. After obtaining a mysterious AI called Fairy, their lives change in unexpected ways.
