Polyarc has announced that Moss: Book 2 is coming to Meta Quest 2. It will launch for the platform sometime in the summer, and while a specific release date hasn’t yet been announced, the developer says it should launch “in the very near future”. You can now wishlist it for Quest 2 on the store though. Check out its announcement trailer below.

Quest 2 players will have plenty else to look forward to as well. Resident Evil 4 VR recently got The Mercenaries as a free update, while Ghostbusters VR and Among US VR have also been announced.

While featuring the same castle from the first game, Moss: Book 2 features some new areas to explore like the gardens outside and the Foundry underground. Along with new attunement abilities, which can create walls of vines and vine bridges for Quill to traverse, there are new weapons for her to use like a hammer.

Moss: Book 2 will be available exclusively for PlayStation VR. However, Polyarc is looking to release it on other platforms “as soon as possible” (as per a recent interview on Upload VR). There’s no tentative date though so stay tuned for any updates.

The gameplay loop is still very much the same – Quill explores the world while the player (aka Reader) helps her out. New nature attunement abilities allow for extending bridges of vines and upon growing vines on walls, Quill will now be able to climb them. There’s also a Foundry located beneath the castle where the player discovers a new hammer weapon for Quill to use.

New threats also await like the Ripper, which can be grabbed and released to wreak havoc on other enemies, and the Bomber, which sets up a “tank” that launches explosive mines. Overall, Moss: Book 2 is aiming for increased player immersion and interactivity to go with its gorgeous world. Stay tuned for more details and gameplay in the coming weeks.

The story this time sees Quill being hunted by a tyrant in the same castle from the first game, and devising a plan to finally free the world from the Arcane’s rule. How she’ll go about executing it remains to be seen but players will once again encounter perilous challenges and conquer puzzles in order to help. Along with returning characters, some new ones are also introduced (while the castle also provides assistance in some ways).

Though Moss: Book 2 is currently exclusive to PlayStation VR, it could come to PC VR headsets as well in the future. Stay tuned for more details and gameplay footage in the meantime.

The trailer offers a mix of gameplay and in-game cinematics. A release date wasn’t provided but the title seems to offer much of the combat and puzzle-solving that made the first title so much fun. Moss released in February 2018 and though Quill could be controlled, the player still played a role, helping to manipulate the environment and help with puzzles.
