Revelations: Persona was in third place, followed by Persona 4 Golden based on fan responses to a recent worldwide survey.

Atlus held a worldwide consumer questionnaire in May 2022, asking fans several questions like their most desired game remakes. In the recent Atlus Survey 2022 Special Program, the result were revealed Persona 3 (which includes the base game, Persona 3 FES, and Persona 3 Portable) led with 78.9 percent.

This was followed by Persona 2: Innocent Sin and Persona 2: Eternal Punishment which also had 78.9 percent of the votes. Revelations: Persona was in third place with 76.3 percent of votes followed by Persona 4 Golden at 74.8 percent and the Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha series at 72.1 percent.

It’s not too surprising to see Persona 3 at the top, especially considering it kicked off the more stylish, contemporary style that the sequels have followed to date. Persona 2 is interesting since it’s not brought up as often, but it’s still pretty beloved among fans (and critically acclaimed). Of course, whether Atlus follows through and remakes these titles remains to be seen.

In the meantime, it’s bringing Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal to Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and PC platforms along with Game Pass. Persona 5 Royal is coming first, launching on October 21st. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks and check out the full results for the survey’s remake question below.

Persona 3 (P3/P3FES/P3P) (78.9 percent)

Revelations: Persona (76.3 percent)

Persona 4 (P4G) (74.8 percent)

Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha series (72.1 percent)

Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers (69.5 percent)

It's going to take a minute for you to organize it, though.

The Persona series has always had its following, but with the release of Persona 5 and its enhanced re-release, Persona 5 Royal, it seems things have been taken to the next level. More people are discovering the franchise, it seems, including its music. Persona has always had some great beats, and now you can get them on select streaming services, though they may be a pain to swift through at the moment.

Seemingly out of nowhere, soundtracks for the various Persona titles appeared on Spotify and Apple Music. It’s not just music for Persona 3-5, either, but many of the various spinoffs such as the Dancing games, Persona Q and Persona 4 Arena. What’s maybe even more surprising is there is also the OST for Persona 2 (if you’re unaware, the style of the series changed significantly with Persona 3, and the first two games are largely ignored), though the first game is still absent.

Unfortunately, as you’ll notice in the links above, despite being available on English storefronts many albums and songs are still in Japanese and are somewhat terribly organized, especially on Spotify. Something similar happened when Square added the Final Fantasy tracks a few years back, which was fixed eventually to make it more manageable, so hopefully this will happen here, too. Still, though, it’s all here even if you have to do some parsing through. It’s unclear at this time if the soundtracks will come to other streaming services such as YouTube Music and Tidal. The next game in the series, Persona 5 Strikers, is set to release on February 23rd on PS4 and Switch.

I just reviewed Trials in the Sky recently, and considering it was such a joy to play a hardcore old-school RPG like that, Persona 2: Innocent Sin just takes it to another level. Again, this is a decade old game released again for the PSP, and features some of the most intriguing story ever seen. As mentioned, this is an old-school JRPG, so you’ve been warned.

It’s not for everyone. It features some archaic gameplay mechanics and visuals, as well as some terrible technical issues.

It doesn’t feature a player-friendly game design considering it’s not a modern JRPG, but if you persevere with the game for a while, it will reward you in the end with some gripping conclusion to a great story.

I am a sucker for turn-based combat and punishing games, so this was right up my alley. If you are interested in this game, you should know some of the finer details, which is helpful for making a purchasing decision.

For starters, the story is absolutely fantastic. You are Tatsuya Suou, a teenager who studies at the Seven Sisters high school. The school is a hipster one, hosting all sorts of popular students from Sumaru City.

All goes well, until things start getting weird at the school, with students’ faces getting manipulated. Rumours start spreading around that the school is cursed. It’s really gripping in the way the events play out, and is one of the best stories I’ve seen in a JRPG before.

The great thing about the gameplay is that you can talk to your enemies. You can select any given dialogue and the enemies’ respond based on their personality. They do a lot of things based on what you have selected and may choose to attack you or strike a deal with you. They also give our tarot cards with which you can unlock new Personas for your character.

This is the main thing about the gameplay, though. Depending on what Personas you unlock, you get unique abilities to boost your stats which are helpful during battle. You have to trade the tarot cards given by enemies after a dialogue and exchange them in the Velvet room. This mechanic is a bit complicated, but once you start playing the game for a while, you will get used to it in no time.

The visuals are very average, but that is expected since the game is a decade old and was released on the PS1. Although, considering the PSP’s strong screen, it isn’t much of an issue. But I can see the visuals turning off a lot of people from the game. Along with the visuals, there are a lot of technical issues like long load times which may, again, ruin your experience with the game.

If you are a JRPG fan, then this game will provide you a deep compelling story, along with some satisfying gameplay provided you can handle the technical issues and have a lot of patience. Patience is the key word when it comes to this game, though.

Persona 2: Innocent Sin is one of the most satisfying JRPGs to have been released for the PSP, or rather re-released for the PSP. I can imagine the hardcore fans getting buying it, but if you are a casual JRPG fan looking for a good story and have a lot of patience and free time, then by all means get this game.

This game was reviewed on the PSP.

Ghostlight have released a new video showing the Demon Negotiation and Persona Summoning features in Persona 2 Innocent Sin.

The new trailer shows off the title’s deep and addicting Demon Negotiation and Persona Summoning features. Players will have opportunities to talk to hostile demons they encounter in battle, potentially persuading them to avoid conflict, give them assistance, or even getting them to provide a special card that lets the player summon new Personas with unique abilities. The unpredictable nature of many of the demons, combined with the many available negotiating tactics, makes for an incredibly nuanced sub-game and offers players tremendous depth and replay value.

We also posted some screens of the game. Check them out here.
