If all the new speculation of Bloodborne 2 from this vague teaser at The Game Awards tells us anything, it’s that the original Bloodborne left quite an impression when it hit the PlayStation 4. We’ve reported before on some of the fantastic discoveries made by players who have finally been poking around the code of the game, and now an unused, mostly functional boss has been found in the game.

Perhaps a little bit unrefined in the animation department, and borrowing the cry of the Blood-Starved Beast, the twisted monstrosity would have fit right into the game with just a little polish. Dubbed as “Great One Beast”, Youtuber Sanadsk has used tools developed by the community to create an encounter in playable form, and then took on and slays the beast in a video below.

Also of note, another player in the community by the name of Zullie the Witch has shown off an unused enemy, and an axe wielding behemoth. Check out both videos below and let us know in the comments what you would want from a Bloodborne 2.

The long-awaited platformer could be appear in a "new and different way".

The Last Guardian made its long awaited return at E3 2015 on the PlayStation 4 and thankfully, Sony hasn’t banished it back into the shadows of development hell. Along with promising a release in 2016, it seems that genDESIGN and SCE Japan Studio may actually be bringing the game to Tokyo Game Show 2015.

This is according to a tweet from genDESIGN which featured an image of the game and stated that, “We are thinking about how to take Trico to the Makuhari (in a new and different way).” Makuhari Messe is a convention centre where many events take place including the Tokyo Game Show.

As of now, there isn’t much to really know about The Last Guardian other than the mechanic of the boy and the Guardian working together to overcome hardships still remains. What could TGS 2015 hold? Stay tuned when the Tokyo Game Show starts on September 17th and concludes on September 20th.

A colossal entry treading a nascent path - here's what Sony needs to do with it.

The last Guardian has been in development and under the wraps for the longest time. But close to being a decade in development hasn’t made the project see a decadent forefront. With that in mind and the fact that Sony has promised to improve and better utilise the existing features of their current generation gaming platform, we have a number of things that can make The last Guardian and all the more memorable experience.

The game sharing the lineage of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Guardian is being looked forward to with emphatic fervour and anticipation which is only growing as the days pass. here’s a bunch of features that The Last Guardian can use to make it an experience we’d all remember all the more fondly.

15. Controller Touchpad

The PS4 controller’s touchpad was a nice feature that was unprecedented in the controllers’ category. As ingenious as the said move may have been, it hasn’t been used as cleverly. The touchpad of the controller can be used for non-primary activities in games.

The Last Guardian offers a great opportunity for the utilisation of the same, for example, in solving puzzles, managing inventory or for switching between objects, weapons or abilities. Of course, it need not be limited to only this game, but it would be a start.

A complete guide for Knack.

Using this guide for the PlayStation 4 exclusive Knack you will be able to find treasure chest locations, collectibles, secret rooms, gadget parts, unlock various Knack forms, get more crystals and unlock trophies.

Treasure Chest Locations In Secret Rooms: Gadget Parts And Crystals:

As with every platformer, Knack also features collectibles. There are a total of 68 treasure chests and finding them all will earn you King of Adventure trophy. There are a couple of points to take into consideration before you attempt to find all of these treasure chests. You need to find all the treasures in one playthrough. So if you miss out even one treasure you will not be able to unlock this trophy. So it’s better to back up your saves in a USB drive.

Each treasure chest contains either a gadget part or crystals both of which are required to upgrade Knack. It is obvious that an upgraded character will make this challenging game a bit easier. Below you will find a video guide that will show you the exact location where you find the treasure chests in the course of the thirteen chapters.

Getting More Crystals:

There is only possible way to get more crystals in the game. The treasure chests in the game randomly gives you either a crystal or a gadget parts. If you get a gadget part, don’t take it because if you go ahead and take it, the game will auto save. The best course of action is to restart the chapter and hope the treasure chest gives you a crystal. This is definitely a very taxing method but the rewards are well worth it.

Knack Unlockable Forms:

Knack has six unlockable forms which are dependent on what kind of crystals you found in the treasure chests. The six forms are Vampire, Diamond, Dark, Brittle, Sunstone and Massive.

Vampire Knack: The player needs to collect 15 Ruby crystals from the treasure chests.

Diamond Knack: The player needs to collect 10 Diamonds from treasure chests.

Dark Knack: You need to collect 20 Amethyst crystals from treasure chests.

Brittle Knack: 10 Aqua crystals are needed to unlock this form.

Sunstone Knack: Sunstone Knack can be unlocked by finding 20 Sunstone crystals.

Massive Knack: Massive Knack can be unlocked by finding 15 Emerald crystals.

Stealth Knack: This is an additional upgrade that will be available in chapters 4-3 and 12-1.

Free Extra Gadget Parts:

Given that Knack is a pretty challenging game, finding all the gadget parts is a tough task. However you can get a few gadget parts by playing the iOS app Knack’s Quest and sync with your PlayStation ID. Those parts will get then transferred to the main game.

Gadgets:

There are eight gadgets in Knack which are: Relic Detector [3], Secret Detector [7], Transmuter [6], Sunstone Battery [3], Harvester [4], Time Dilator [5], Double Battery [5] and Combo Meter [7]. The number in brackets indicates the number of gadget parts required to construct them.

Trophies:

Knack consist of 42 trophies. These are further divided into one platinum, 28 bronze, 9 silver and 4 gold. They are simple, straight forward and the several tips mentioned above will help you unlock them.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://gamingbolt.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/the_last_guardian.jpg" alt="Stop trolling us, Sony. Seriously. When Sony recently announced that it would be making the announcement that everyone had been waiting for, many gamers assumed it would be the reintroduction of The Last Guardian. The often-delayed title has been pretty much AWOL since its debut at E3 2009 (and it’s been in development since 2007), and while there was hope that we’d get some new news on the same, it just wasn’t meant to be.

Nonetheless, the project is still alive. Speaking to Game Informer, president of Sony’s worldwide studios for SCE Shuhei Yoshida stated that they’re simply waiting for the right time to re-debut it.

“The team is still there in SCE Japan Studio, [Fumito] Ueda-san is still there, but we are still waiting for the time to reintroduce it.”

Ueda departed from Team Ico while the project was on-going, but stayed on the project as a consultant. Higher priority was given to games like Knack and Puppeteer – perhaps with their subsequent releases, we’ll hear something new about The Last Guardian? Stay tuned.

3. Gameplay

4. Characters

Story

The human race has found itself threatened with war from a species of creatures known only as Goblins. These Goblins are raising a resurgent army that is being guided and used by Gundahar their green skinned leader. During all of this, a human doctor that studies ancient relics from a long dead civilization has finally realized something incredible. He has finally found a way in which he can bind and fuse the relics together and give them their very own consciousness.

The final result of this process was Knack, a mysteriously powerful little creature. His powers allow him to fuse these relics to his body and use their powers which will allow him to transform into different forms, from a short ramshackle looking bipedal robot, to a towering machine of fierce power and destructive capability. It’s this ability to reconstruct his body in different forms that he can use to varying effect. The relics he can use are made of many different materials, be it metal, rock ice and so on.

Furthermore Knack can rebuild his body almost instantaneously to best suit the given situation and tackle various challenges. The example given is being able to discard rocks and metal, leaving Crystal in his body so that he can become functionally invisible to security systems and other types of security systems. It’s not long after this initial discovery that the doctor realizes that Knack may be an essential ally in the war against the Goblin army.Although, while trying to put humanities plans in motion for combating the Goblin army, it becomes apparent that there is an even greater danger posed by certain elements of the human community.

During the development of Knack, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Studio was questioned by a member of the press. They were asked to describe their inspiration for the game. When prompted to answer they said that the game was to be an amalgamation of currently existing franchises (like Crash Bandicoot and KatamariDamacy). The inspiration is coming from Crash Bandicoot, a platforming title that originated on the PlayStation 1 and was one of the forerunners in 3D platforming being done properly; this is most likely the inspiration for the games platforming segments.

After that is KatamariDamacy (clump soul) is a third person puzzle game that has the player control an ever growing ball of detritus. This is most likely the inspiration for absorbing and gathering minerals and resources to increase Knacks size and abilities.

Assistant Producer NicoloAccordino has been noted to have said that his team kept his team kept the controls “purposefully simple”. “As part of our design process, we ended up making a giant controller, 50 per cent larger than usual, so we could directly experience what it feels like to be a child playing a game,” said the slightly mad genius. “And we immediately understood that the shoulder buttons were simply out of reach of the typical eight-year-old, but all of the face buttons could be used quite readily.”

Gameplay

Gameplay for Knack is a combination of third person action / platforming mixed with some puzzle elements, this is most likely due to the influential games that served as inspiration share those elements. Size and scale are factors in the game, in a Demo build of the game it can be seen that “Crystal” Knack can pass through certain areas such as laser grids without taking any damage or tripping alarms. Turning into a large version of Knack is used for tackling strong opponents, like those that wield rocket or laser weaponry whereas the smaller Knack can enter into small vents and clefts in the rocks for example.

During the combat you will fight multiple enemies. Taking enemies head on in a larger form will give you three or four melee attacks to use, but Knack cannot defend himself in combat, so it’s advised to use the Dash ability to help dodge incoming enemy strikes. Mixing attacks and changing tactics will only get you so far, this is when you start using your assimilated elemental powers will come into play.

Knack can also explosively expel all of the relics and detritus that he has gathered along the way form a large tornado like special attack. Small details during the combat truly add to the experience, such as battle damage in the form of Relics being knocked or torn of Knack while he’s in the fray. But despite the complexities of the games internal mechanics, the controls never get to be too much, for example a simple tap of the triangle button will change Knacks size.

Characters

Knack

Knack is the main character in the game. He was created by The Professor after his research into Relics as a weapon against the evil resurgent Goblin Army. At his core is an ancient piece of technology from a long lost civilization, using this core he can gather different materials from the area around him and use them to alter his form and size. By doing this he can keep and maintain any materials he has gathered, like discarding everything except rock to become tough and heavy.

The Professor

The Professor is the man behind Knacks creation; he created Knack by using ancient technologies. He did this in an effort to help humanity defeat the threat of a resurgent Goblin army that is being led by their ruler Gundahar.

Gundahar

Gundahar is the current leader of the now resurgent Goblin army, although is motives are mysterious; he does appear to be curious as to why Knack is not fighting for him.

Kutaro can also use various other puppet heads to replace his own, thus bestowing different properties and abilities. The entire game is also unique with its visual style, which represents a puppet show in motion. Backgrounds change, characters are attached to strings and props look flimsy and constructed.

Puppeteer will be making its way to the PlayStation 3 on September 10th in North America and on September 11th in Europe.

Developed PS4 chief system architect Mark Cerny, Knack sees its hero using different and mysterious relics to transform into more powerful forms to take down enemies. These include a wrecking machine, though there is the danger that this could bring to the world on its own.

Knack will be on of the launch titles for the console and support up to two players. No word yet on a co-op mode, though it’s more than expected at this point. Stay tuned for more.
