While first-person shooters arguably command more attention these days – especially with Xbox and PlayStation arguing over Call of Duty – the third-person shooters of yore can’t be discounted. Whether it’s identifying more with your character on-screen, having a better view of the action, or a different gameplay loop, here are 15 more third-person shooters you should play.

Star Wars: Battlefront 2

Before Electronic Arts, live service, and tie-ins with every new film, there was LucasArts’ Star Wars: Battlefront 2. Published in 2005, it featured first, and third-person perspectives with four multiplayer modes and 24 maps. Of course, along with a campaign of 18 missions, there was Galactic Conquest, where players led their fleet through the galaxy and conquered or protected planets.

Upon encountering an enemy on a planet, it would shift to combat, resulting in massive battles. With the addition of Heroes, new modes like Hero Assault, and more content than its predecessor, Star Wars: Battlefront 2 is still a strong benchmark for Star Wars titles.

If you couldn’t partake in all the Star Wars deals to celebrate May the 4th, then don’t worry. Electronic Arts has added 12 Star Wars titles to the Vault in Origin Access. These include Star Wars: Republic Commando, Star Wars Battlefront 2 (Classic), Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, and many more.

Origin Access on PC only requires you to pay $5 per month or $30 per year to access its library of over 200 games. You also get discounts on all digital content from EA, along with limited time trials of upcoming games. Check below for the full breakdown of Star Wars games added to the Vault.

Newer Star Wars offerings are on the way, with Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order out on November 15th. It tells the story of Cal Kestis, who’s in hiding after Order 66. That doesn’t last for long though, as he eventually has to outrun the Sith’s Inquisitors and the Second Sister. A proper gameplay reveal has been confirmed for next month at EA Play.

Xbox Games With Gold in February Includes Assassin’s Creed Rogue, Super Bomberman R

January is finally over, and that means the next round of free games is upon us. We’re of course talking about Xbox Live’s Games With Gold offer, which provides a monthly slate of free games to Xbox Live Gold subscribers. This month should be interesting, as it includes Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon (February 1st to 28th) and Super Bomberman R (February 16th to March 15th) for Xbox One.

Xbox 360 players get Assassin’s Creed Rogue (which is also available for Xbox One in remastered form) and Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. The former is available from February 1st to 15th, while the latter can be claimed from February 16th to 28th. As usual, thanks to backwards compatibility, Xbox One players can enjoy these titles as well.

It’s a pretty solid line-up of games, particularly Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, which pays tribute to the older Castlevania titles on the NES. Assassin’s Creed Rogue also offers a unique take on the series by having players assume the role of Shay Cormac, an Assassin-turned-Templar.
