Yakuza: Like a Dragon, As Dusk Falls, Poppy Playtime: Chapter, and Wizard with a Gun will also be added to the Game Catalog.

Sony has officially revealed the next wave of Game Catalog titles for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium users, starting with Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2. The acclaimed remake is available on October 21st for subscribers on PS5.

Other notable PS5 titles include Ballistic Moon’s Until Dawn, a less-acclaimed remake based on Supermassive’s 2015 narrative horror, and V Rising, a sandbox action RPG where players control a newly awakened vampire. There’s also Wizard with a Gun, if you’re keen on less serious survival crafting action.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon will also be available for PS5 and PS4 players alongside narrative adventure As Dusk Falls and Poppy Playtime: Chapter 1. Premium subscribers also receive access to classics like Tekken 3, one of the best entries in the series, for both platforms. Strangely enough, Tomb Raider: Anniversary and Soulcalibur 3, also rumored to be added, are missing.

Regardless, stay tuned when these titles go live next week. In the meantime, subscribers of all tiers can experience Alan Wake 2, Goat Simulator 3 and Cocoon.

Premium subscribers will also allegedly receive access to classics such as Tomb Raider: Anniversary, Tekken 3 and Soulcalibur 3.

The spooky season started early for PlayStation Plus subscribers with the addition of Alan Wake 2 to Essential last week. While Silent Hill 2 remake is allegedly next for Extra and Premium subscribers, Dealabs’ billbil-kun has reported another major horror entry joining the line-up: 2024’s Until Dawn.

A remake of Supermassive’s classic, it was released for PS5 and PC in October 2024 to mixed reviews (and the Until Dawn film didn’t do much to bolster interest). You can check out our thoughts here, but alongside low Steam numbers, it reportedly performed worse than Concord on PS5. Developer Ballistic Moon would “effectively” close last March after failing to secure funding (and allegedly pitching another project to Sony).

Of course, there’s apparently even more in store, including As Dusk Falls and V Rising for Extra subscribers. As for PlayStation Classics, available exclusively for Premium subscribers, Tomb Raider: Anniversary, Tekken 3 and Soulcalibur 3 will reportedly be made available. Stay tuned for more updates and the official announcement in the meantime.

The Last of Us Part 2 and Remastered will also be available for PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers on September 26th.

Remedy’s acclaimed psychological horror Alan Wake 2 is the next big title coming to PlayStation Plus Essential (and other tiers) as a free monthly game. It will be available on October 7th alongside Goat Simulator 3 and Cocoon.

Released in 2023 (and winner of our Game of the Year award), Alan Wake 2 follows up on the original by offering two protagonists: Wake and Saga Anderson. The latter is an FBI special agent investigating mysterious murders in Bright Falls and eventually connects with the former. Boasting incredible production values and storytelling, the sequel sold over two million units as of February 2025.

But that’s not all. To celebrate The Last of Us Day on September 26th, PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members can experience The Last of Us Part 2 on PS4 and The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered on PS5. In terms of PlayStation Classics, Premium members can look forward to the addition of Tekken 3 (PS One), Soulcalibur 3 (PS2) and Tomb Raider: Anniversary (PS2) later this year.

These games throw logic to the wind while still being enjoyable.

Video games can be viewed as art in a number of different ways. They’re also chock-full of straight-up dumb moments that are utterly ridiculous in scope and scale. But many times, those dumb moments can be enjoyable, adding to the experience in wonderful ways. So let’s take a look at 10 of the dumbest moments in videos that we were totally okay with. Spoilers abound.

Nanomachines Here, Nanomachines There – Metal Gear Solid 4

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is the penultimate conclusion to Solid Snake’s story, offering salvation, damnation, and ultimately redemption. Also, nanomachines. Nanomachines for everything. Nanomachines are needed to utilize the newest generation of weapons. Nanomachines can be manipulated to freak people out, as Liquid Ocelot did to Snake, his own PMC, and Meryl’s crew. Nanomachines can hold off diseases, like Naomi Hunter’s cancer, and they’re even the cause of Vamp’s immortality, allowing him to cheat death on numerous occasions. But you know what? Seeing technology become so invasive in the future, to the extent of becoming a necessity for warfare, was crazy and psychedelic in its own right.

Some feats may seem impossible until you perform these audacious tricks.

Video games offer a variety of different challenges but sometimes, you want to make those challenges as non-existent as possible. While these tricks aren’t cheats per say, they will make your life a bit easier, perhaps even completely breaking certain aspects of these 15 games.

The Elbow – Double Dragon

The Elbow trick is one of the most revered moves in Double Dragon history, particularly because it knocks down enemies faster and does lots of damage. It’s also not a trick – it depends on the number of points one has because that leads to more hearts. With five hearts, you can execute the elbow, smashing foes behind you and knocking them down for those quick, no-death speed-runs.

Pre-loaded with over 20 classic PS1 titles.

Sony has now sold more than 500 million units of PlayStation consoles, and of course, it all started with the original PlayStation that came out 25 years ago. To celebrate the success of the original PlayStation, Sony is bringing it back as a new miniature version called the PlayStation Classic, similar to what Nintendo did with the NES, that will be pre-loaded with over 2o classic games, such as Tekken 3, Final Fantasy VII, Wild Arms, and more.

The original PlayStation was the first home console to ever ship more than 100 million units worldwide. Needless to say, the console ensured Sony’s place as one of the leading manufacturers of video game consoles, so there’s no doubt in our minds that its miniature classic version will do exceedingly well. The PlayStation Classic is now available to pre-order and it will cost $99. The console will also come with an HDMI cable, a USB cable, and two controllers. If you’re excited to get your hands on this console, you won’t have to wait too long, because it will be out on December 3.

You can check out some images of the PlayStation Classic, as well as its announce video, below.

From platformers and horror to RPGs, the PS One era has several greats.

The PlayStation One is considered one of the best video game consoles of all time. It’s sold over 102 million units and served as the base for dozens, if not hundreds, of classic franchises. To that effect, compiling the 15 greatest PS One games of all time can be difficult. Regardless, you can be rest assured that every title here is worth playing, even if there’s something we missed. So without further ado, let’s get into it.

Final Fantasy 7

For many people, this was the reason they bought a PlayStation One. Sure, the CG cutscenes didn’t indicate the amount of turn-based combat that it had but Final Fantasy 7 was still a trail-blazer for its time. It took Japan-developed RPGs into the mainstream, catering to more mature audiences; the graphics were leaps and bounds above any of the SNES Final Fantasy games; and the story of Cloud and Sephiroth remains etched in gaming history. Oh and Final Fantasy 7 is also a pretty robust, insanely involving, highly entertaining RPG in its own right as well.
