On October 6th, Medieval Dynasty will be available for Xbox Series X/S players. This is a survival RPG with crafting and town management elements, currently available for PC. The first two seasons of Telltale’s The Walking Dead will also be available for PC players.

On October 11th, Double Fine’s Costume Quest is available on consoles and cloud along with the social deduction game Eville, playable on consoles and PC. Dyson Sphere Program joins the service on October 13th for PC players. On October 14th, Ebb Software’s Scorn finally releases for Xbox Series X/S, PC, and cloud.

The first wave wraps up with A Plague Tale: Requiem on October 18th for Xbox Series X/S, PC, and cloud. Several titles will also leave the service on October 15th, so play them now while you have the chance. They are as follows:

• Echo Generation (Cloud, Console, and PC)
• Into The Pit (Cloud, Console, and PC)
• Ring of Pain (Cloud, Console, and PC)
• Sable (Cloud, Console, and PC)
• The Good Life (Cloud, Console, and PC)

Potential customers of Telltale Games products faced an issue when the studio went bankrupt. All of its titles were removed from various storefronts including Steam. Though The Walking Dead: The Final Season resumed developed, its remaining episodes would become Epic Games Store-exclusive. It wasn’t long before The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series was also limited to the storefront.

But good news has finally come. Skybound Games, whose parent company owns the IP, announced that all four seasons of Telltale’s The Walking Dead would return on Steam today. Not only that but Season 2 and A New Frontier are now available on the Nintendo Switch eShop.

It’s still unconfirmed if The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series will be available to purchase on Steam. That version includes all four seasons, The Walking Dead: Michonne, the 400 Days DLC, various bonus content including a documentary and the “Graphic Black” setting for a more graphic novel look. Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass continues to expand with even more Xbox One games added to the service. Starting today, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s Batman: Return to Arkham, Disney’s Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two! and Double Fine’s Headlander are available for subscribers. On February 28th, Telltale’s The Walking Dead: Season 2 and The Creative Assembly’s Alien: Isolation will also be available.

Batman: Return to Arkham is arguably the highlight of this month’s launches. It includes remastered versions of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, complete with all of the downloadable content for both. As for Headlander from Double Fine Productions, it’s a retro-futuristic Metroidvania-type game where you play as a disembodied head. Ripping off robot heads and attaching yours to their bodies is important for success.

Disney’s Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two! was designed by Warren Spector (who’s currently working on System Shock 3). It features Mickey and Oswald as they work to save the Wasteland. Various Disney characters and attractions will be encountered, further adding to the charm- even if the sequel isn’t as good as its predecessor.
