Ever since Epic Games announced its intent to have its own PC storefront, more and more games have been announced as exclusive to said store. On one hand, it makes sense—Epic wants to promote its storefront, and the best way to do it is to have exclusive games that compel to use the Epic Store. On the other, however, a lot of these games had originally been announced for other stores, like Steam, and turned Epic Store exclusive at the last moment. Which is kind of a jerky bait and switch.
The latest such bait and switch is arguably even worse—Skybound Games has announced in a press release that the remainder of the episodes for The Walking Dead: The Final Season will be exclusive to the Epic Store. Which means the game literally became exclusive to another platform midway through its release, which is a whole new level of exclusivity shenanigans.
If you have already bought the season pass on Steam, or a different storefront, you will get the rest of the episodes without any interruption. It’s just if you haven’t, and plan to on PC, the Epic Store is now your only option.
