Originally slated to release last Fall, Survios’ The Walking Dead Onslaught will now be releasing on September 29th. The VR title will be available Oculus, Valve Index, HTC Vive and PlayStation VR. Unlike The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners, this title is based on AMC’s The Walking Dead. It promises some pretty visceral combat based on real-motion as players dismember foes in brutal fashion. You can lop off undead arms, legs and heads or impale them. There are some interesting physics at play as well as players might experience some resistance when trying to remove a weapon from a hacked corpse.

The Walking Dead Onslaught will feature two modes – a campaign with an original plot and a survival mode where weapons and loot are randomized. Overall, it looks decent and the shooting appears to be fairly responsive. We’ll see how it pans out next month at launch.

Available now worldwide, Space Channel 5 VR: Kinda Funky News Flash! sees the return of space reporter/dance fighter Ulala. In an interesting twist, players take on the role of a junior reporter, dancing alongside Ulala. You can dance through Story Mode, partake in Arcade mode or try to complete 100 dances in a row through Trial Dance. Even if it’s essentially a fitness game, Ulala’s return has been long overdue.

One chapter of The Walking Dead video game adaptations has closed with the release of Telltale’s The Walking Dead: The Final Season, despite the many roadblocks it ultimately faced. Now it looks like another chapter is about to start, this time with the characters you know and love from the popular TV series and comic book, in the upcoming VR game, The Walking Dead Onslaught.

The game was announced by publisher/developer Survios as a collaboration between them and AMC, the network where The Walking Dead airs. It is said to be an immersive experience where you will play as a survivor in two different game modes: a narrative based original story or a survival one based around randomized weapons and loot in supply runs. Along with it was a brief teaser, which you can see below, that highlights weapons used by fan favorites Daryl, Rick, and Michonne.

The Walking Dead Onslaught wasn’t given any solid release date, and whether it will launch for other platforms besides PC and with a non-VR version is unclear at this time.
