Jon Bernthal of The Punisher fame stars as a new Ghost Team leader.

Ubisoft isn’t done supporting Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands just yet. It recently announced that two new missions would be added on May 2nd as part of Operation Oracle. Players will have to extract a Skell Tech engineer and eventually run into Major Cole D. Walker, a Ghost Team leader played by Jon Bernthal (star of The Punisher TV series). Check out the reveal trailer below.

Operation Oracle will also see players discovering information that will “redefine loyalty.” Some of the new rewards that can be earned include the Execution CQC Finisher and Walker’s Ghost tattoo. The Walker Icon Skin will also be available as a Ubisoft Club Reward at a later time.

Ghost Recon Wildlands may have wrapped up Year 2 of its Season Pass, but it added quite a bit of new content for players. Along with new PvP classes and maps for Ghost War, a proper horde mode called Guerrilla Mode was also introduced for battling waves of increasingly challenging enemies. You can try all this new content for free, especially with the game having a free weekend from tomorrow till May 5th.

A new PvE mission and new PvP maps are coming to Year 2 Pass holders first.

Ubisoft’s support for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands continues with a new Special Operation announced for December 11th. It will be available to Year 2 Pass owners first, with the general population receiving it for free one week later. Previous Special Operations have included tie-ins with Splinter Cell and Rainbow Six: Siege.

While Ubisoft has yet to reveal the plot behind this Special Operation, it will offer a new PvE mission, new PvP maps, a Photo Mode, and improvements to the Prestige Economy. New Ghost War classes are also coming to PvP. The Photo Mode, as the name implies, lets you capture images, use filters and effects, and then share them with others from the game itself.

Ghost Recon Wildlands has been receiving significant support from Ubisoft since launching in March 2017. New features include the Tier 1 system for tougher challenges, a permadeath Ghost Mode, the ability to play the game without AI squad-mates, and much more. Special Operation 4 will release in Q1 2019, though we’re obviously a ways off from knowing its contents.

Time to jump in, if you haven’t already.

Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands, released last year, was one of the more successful games launched in a year full of successful games. A lot of this probably had something to do with the excellent post launch support Ubisoft gave it, which led to it having a far longer tail at retail than most games manage.

Now, it looks like Ubisoft wants to give it a second wind, as far as user adoption goes. They’re going to be making the game free to play for everyone this weekend on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Two new editions, the Year 2 Gold Edition and the Ultimate Edition (which include all Year 2 content, and all content, respectively) will also be available, while select merchandise for the game will also be available for as much as 75% off.

So really, if you’ve ever been interested in the game, and just never had the chance to get around to it, now is a great time to try and jump in and see what you think. Wildlands is out now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

That’s a whole lot of excellent post launch support...

Ghost Recon Wildlands, the open world co-op action game released by Ubisoft last year, was an immense success, buoyed even more so by some excellent and relentless post launch support by the publisher (including a whole new PvP mode that was added to the game months after its launch). And now, even though the game is over a year old, Ubisoft has confirmed its intention to continue supporting the game with more DLC and support for the coming year.

First off, something that all players of the game should appreciate: Ubisoft has confirmed that there will be an additional four free updates for the game, which, among other things, will add new content for the campaign and PvP modes. These will be available to all players without a single penny charged, regardless of whether or not they choose to purchase the DLC or the Season Pass(es).

There will also be a $30 Year 2 Digital Pass. Purchasers of this pass can expect all four of the free updates, an exclusive customization pack, four Special Ops battle crates, four Ghost War battle crates, and early access to all the new PvP mode Ghost War classes—in other words, there’s a fair bit here, whether or not that is enough to justify the $30 is, of course, up to you.

Regardless of whether or not you choose to buy the DLC Pass, however, Ubisoft’s support for the game must be lauded. Ghost Recon Wildlands is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Head to head comparison between the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X versions of Ghost Recon Wildlands.

Just as Ghost Recon Wildlands on the PS4 Pro was a noticeable improvement over the game’s base PS4 version (which itself boasts better specifications than the base Xbox One version), the game’s Xbox One X enhancements are a step above any of the other console versions. While Ubisoft haven’t added in full native 4K support, they’ve made enough tweaks and changes in almost every other aspect of the game to deliver an end result that, even at first glance, seems like a major leap forward.

Let’s get something out of the way right off the bat- as previously mentioned, Wildlands on the Xbox One X doesn’t do native 4K. On the Xbox One, the game was rendered at 900p; on the base PS4, it the resolution was a solid 1080p; on the PS4 Pro it was outputted at 1440p. On the Xbox One X, there is yet another jump forward, and though it isn’t full 4K, the updated resolution of 3200 X 1800p is still an improvement. However, the game doesn’t just rely on a better resolution for its enhancements. Improvements have been made in a lot of other areas as well, such as improved level of detail, draw distances, shadow quality and texture filtering.

As a result, image quality on the Xbox One X is much better than the game’s PS4 Pro version. Visuals are sharp and detailed, and everything from reflections and foliage to the shadows even something like the dirt roads are rendered a lot more convincingly.

It’s ultimately a matter of a lot of small but vital improvements and upgrades coming together to make for a game that looks much better. There’s a lot more detail, a lot more definition. The PS4 Pro version of Wildlands was a notable jump over the game’s base console versions, but there was a feeling that it didn’t take full advantage of the console. On the Xbox One X, Ubisoft have done just that, by rendering the game at a higher resolution, and combining that with improvements in a ton of other areas as well. As a result, while the resolution itself isn’t quite 4K, all the improvements coupled together come very close to providing a similar visual boost.

Despite some heavy competition throughout the year, Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands is still the best selling game of 2017 till August in the United States as per the latest report from The NPD Group.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is in second place followed by Grand Theft Auto 5 which has coincidentally achieved 41 appearances in the top 10 charts. This is 16 more times than any other game in history. Despite concerns over a falling player base when it launched, For Honor is in fourth followed by Horizon: Zero Dawn and Injustice 2.

Perhaps due to price cuts and other discounts, Mass Effect: Andromeda is in seventh place. Madden NFL 18, which was the number 1 selling game in the US for August 2017, is in eighth place with NBA 2K17 and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard rounding out the rest of the charts.

There’s more to come for Ghost Recon: Wildlands players such as the free PvP mode Ghost War. It will be entering into open beta on September 21st till 25th.

Ubisoft dropped the latest title update for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands which carried bug fixes, improvements and the new Tier 1 mode. Tier 1 mode is interesting because very little information was offered on it but thanks to a new video from BenjoRippin on YouTube, we can see exactly what’s in store.

Tier 1 mode starts after you hit the level cap and allows you to progress up a tiered ladder, earning rewards, upgrading your guns (which will only work in this mode and not outside of it) and taking on progressively tougher missions.

There are no new missions per say but players will be able to run through the old content and garner some new goodies. For new players, this is a great time-waster when they’re done with the main story.

What are your thoughts on Tier 1 mode in Ghost Recon: Wildlands? Will you return to the game for it? Let us know in the comments below.

Somehow, for some perverse reason, in a year full of great, incredible games like Horizon, Zelda, Nioh, and Persona 5, the highest selling game thus far is Ghost Recon: Wildlands. I mean, there’s nothing wrong with Wildlands in and of itself, per se. It’s a reasonably well made game that is good at what it does. It’s just… so bland, next to these other games that have been mentioned.

But hey, if you like it, you like it. And if you want more of it, the good news is, you don’t have long to wait. Ubisoft has announced that Fallen Ghosts, the next expansion for the game, will bring 15 new missions, four new bosses, a new character at level 30, and an increase of the level cap to 35, to the game. It will be available on May 30 for Season Pass holders, on June 6 for everyone else.

As with the game itself, it will be available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

2017 has been a fantastic year for games- in just the first three months, we received some great games, such as NieR Automata, Nioh, Mass Effect Andromeda, Tales of Berseria, Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD, Resident Evil 7, and Yakuza 0, to say nothing of games like Horizon: Zero Dawn, and of course, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which may be among the greatest games ever made.

You will be happy to know that none of these got the much deserved mantle of being the highest selling game in the UK in the first three months of this year. No, instead, the highest selling game in the UK in Q1 2017 was Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands (via MCV).

Wildlands is still a good enough game, and I sort of see its appeal to the more mainstream player, so I won’t begrudge it its success, of course- especially since some of the other great games, such as Zelda and Horizon, did well enough, too. But still, I have to admit, I wish that those games had done a bit better- I think they are fantastic games that deserve to be enjoyed by the maximum number of people they can be.

You can check out the full lists below:

01. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands
02. Grand Theft Auto V
03. Horizon: Zero Dawn
04. Resident Evil VII
05. FIFA 17
06. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
07. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
08. For Honor
09. Mass Effect: Andromeda
10. Battlefield 1

Unlocking all Trophies/Achievements for Wildlands.

Ghost Recon Wildlands being a vast open world like it is, it can be hard to track down everything that there is to see and do in the game. The corollary of that is that if you are trying to 100% the game – maybe get all the Achievements/Trophies – then you probably need some help.

That’s where we come in. In this guide, we list out all the Achievements/Trophies that there are for this game, along with their descriptions that you get when you unlock them. Where we can, we also provide you with video guides for unlocking these Achievements/Trophies.
