Agent 47 – Hitman Series

Enhanced speed, reflexes, strength and even a slight healing factor – Agent 47 possesses all of this and more, further supplemented by training in all forms of assassination. That includes sniping, as he can take down targets and vanish with barely any trace. Such is his overall infamy that he’s considered a legend in the ICA and will go to any lengths to kill a target.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 is an excellent turn based strategy game, which came out last year, and sadly, went under the radar for most. However, there’s still time to right this wrong—Sega announced on their Twitter account yesterday that Valkyria Chronicles 4 is available now for 50% off on the Nintendo Switch eShop, bringing the price down to $30 USD ($40 CAD).

The original Valkyria Chronicles, which also came out on Switch last year, is also on sale, for 25% off. Sadly, the promotion where you could get the game for cheaper for also owning Valkyria Chronicles 4 on Switch doesn’t seem to be active anymore, but it’s is still a great price.

Both games are absolutely fantastic, with the original game having the better story, and 4 boasting better gameplay, balance, and missions design. Both games are also standalone, and so can be played independently of each other. If you have a hankering for some great strategy action on the Switch, I can’t recommend them enough.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 is one of the best games I have played all year, and has instantly made me want to dig into the series more—something I am sure has happened with a whole lot of people who have been exposed to the franchise for the first time with the new game, which launched on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (previous games have been PlayStation exclusive, with the original one getting a belated launch on PC).

If you’re a new convert to the franchise thanks to the Switch version of the fourth game, here’s some good news: the original game is now available and playable on the Switch, as previously announced. It launched today, and can be bought for $20 ($15 if you own Valkyria Chronicles 4 on Switch digitally). The Switch version of the game comes with all the DLC for the original title included in it, too, so you’re getting a lot of high quality content for a very good price here.

Apart from being on Switch, the original Valkyria Chronicles is also available on PS3, PS4, and PC. Valkyria Chronicles 4, meanwhile, is out now on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

There’s a lot that we’ve been able to learn about Valkyria Chronicles 4 so far, including its system requirements for PC, and also about its environments, classes, and more. Now, the DLC release schedule for the game has been revealed, and there’s a lot of post-launch content to be excited for.

First of all, Tank Decals and the Japanese Voice Pack will be free for all platforms on the day of the game’s release. The latter will be automatically included with all the versions, except for the Nintendo Switch, for which it will have to be downloaded separately. Following this, there will be multiple paid DLCs that will be released for the game, all the way until the end of the year.

The Two Valkyria will launch on November 20, a couple weeks after Expert Level Skirmishes, which will release on November 6, which in turn will be preceded by two weeks by A Captainless Squad, launching on October 23. All three of these will cost $4.99, though A Captainless Squad will be available for free on the base game’s launch for all those who pre-ordered the game digitally.

Squad E, to the Beach! releases for a price of $6.99, as the costliest DLC for Valkyria Chronicles 4, and launches on October 9. Meanwhile, December will see the release of two DLC packs for the game, with Edy’s Advance Ops launching on December 4, and A Unit Front With Squad releasing two weeks later on December 18. Both of these will cost $3.99, but if you buy the “Memoirs from Battle” edition of the game, you’ll get free codes for both of these and will be able to play them at launch itself.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 launches for the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on September 25.

While Valkyria Chronicles 4 is due to launch this month for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, the original Valkyria Chronicles, which this one is a follow up to, is only available on two of those platforms. Valkyria Chronicles originally launched for PS3, but was later on ported to PC and PS4 respectively. Switch and Xbox haven’t had that game, ever.

Well, in the west at least. In Japan, Sega did announce a port of Valkyria Chronicles for Nintendo Switch. Now, that Switch port of the first game will be coming westward, too. At PAX West, Sega announced that Valkyria Chronicles Switch will launch in North America and Europe in October, just a month after Valkyria Chronicles 4.

The Switch release in the west will be digital only, but it will also only be $20; if you own Valkyria Chronicles 4 on Switch as well, you get another 25% off of that, so it works out to being a very good deal, to those who want more of Valkyria’s brand of turn based strategy action on their Switch.

Remember when Sega revealed that the first Valkyria Chronicles would be releasing for Nintendo Switch in Japan around the same time as Valkyria Chronicles 4? It turns out the Switch version of both games is coming out on September 27th 2018. This was confirmed by today’s issue of Weekly Famitsu.

Japanese consumers who purchase Valkyria Chronicles 4 will also avail of a discount voucher of 5oo Yen for the first game. Interestingly, Valkyria Chronicles 4 will be releasing in North America and Europe on September 25th so really, that week might as well be devoted to the series. Given that Valkyria Chronicles 4 didn’t exactly set the sales charts on fire in Japan, it will hopefully see better success stateside.

When will Valkyria Chronicles head to the Nintendo Switch in the West? Sega has yet to confirm a release date but the fact that Japan has a more solid window could help. It’s also possible that porting and localization are underway as we speak. We’ll have to wait for more information in the meantime.

Sega has confirmed that the original Valkyria Chronicles, the beloved cult classic strategy RPG that spawned a whole series, will be coming to the Nintendo Switch later this year. The game originally previously launched for the PS3, later getting releases on the PS4 and PC as well- this marks the first time it will be available on a non-PlayStation console.

It will be launching in roughly the same time frame in Japan as Valkyria Chronicles 4 (which launched on the PS4 last month, and underperformed; the Switch version is planned for later this year). Buying both on the eShop will get you a discount.

For now, the Switch version of the first game has not been announced for the west, although presumably it is only a matter of time. Valkyria Chronicles 4, on the other hand, is due out on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch later this year in the west.

Sega has released a new trailer for Valyria Chronicles 4 and it showcases the crossover missions which feature the cast from the original Valkyria Chronicles. As a beloved game of the previous generation, this trailer is sure to make fans of the series feel nostalgic.

These are Special DLC missions and the first of these is the “Advance Special Operation” mission which will feature Edy, the beloved soldier character. Once the mission is completed, Edy will be unlocked in the main game as well. The other mission is “Joint Operation With Squad 7” and as the name suggests, features a mission where players will fight alongside the heroes of the original Valkyria Chronicles, the members of squad 7.

If you don’t remember, Squad 7 consists of Alicia Melchiott, Isara Gunther, Brigitte “Rosie” Stark, Largo Potter, and Welkin Gunther. This mission is included  as a bonus in the Japanese Collector’s Edition.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 is set to release for the PS4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch in North America and Europe in 2018. The game will release in Japan for the PS4 on March 21, 2018 and will release for the Switch at some later date in the summer. SEGA’s cult classic strategy RPG series, Valkyria Chronicles seems to be getting ready to reveal a new entry, with a new teaser site popping up recently that promises something to do with the series to be revealed on November 20 at 12:00 PM.

There isn’t much to see on the site at the moment, just some blurry concept art with the title “Valkryia Project”, promised to come soon and a big “11.20” teasing a reveal for later in the month.

While it’s only speculation, It should be noted that the sleuths over at Resetera believe that the inclusion of ESRB and PEGI symbols as well as a localized website suggest that it’s very unlikely that the teased title will be a mobile game, and we can expect it for worldwide release. The previous title in the series, Valkryia Revolution was well received, but also technically a spin off, leaving the series ripe for a new main instalment.

Valkyria Chronicles, the cult classic strategy JRPG, is getting a remaster on the PlayStation 4- and that remaster will also be launching in the west this Spring, Sega confirmed today, delighting fans of the cult classic franchise, and giving them hope that the next entry in the series, the PS4 exclusive Valkyria: Azure Revolution, might make the jump to our shores as well. It’s a hope that not many fans have dared to have, what with Valkyria Chronicles 3 completely opting out of a western release.

Valkyria Chronicles Remastered will launch in North America and Europe this Spring; it will retail for only $30, come with Japanese and English dual audio tracks, upgraded resolution, and trophies; if that were not enough, all the DLC from the original release will also be included in the package. At $30, this is honestly a steal.

Valkyria Chronicles is also available on the PlayStation 3 and on PC, should you wish to give it a go, and not wait till the remaster’s release.
