What makes this all the more incredible is that it’s the ninth straight week that it achieved this feat, beating the free-to-play Counter-Strike 2 and Battlefield 6, which had a much larger launch in terms of sales. It even scored ahead of heavy hitters like Marvel Rivals, Helldivers 2, Rocket League, Warframe, and Baldur’s Gate 3.

While its console rankings aren’t nearly as dominant, it’s still in eighth place on PlayStation and seventh place on Xbox. Plus, you have to consider that the top five most-played games have remained relatively static since 2024.

What’s next for ARC Raiders, especially with Embark promising a roadmap “soon”? Aside from multiple new maps across a “spectrum of size,” you can apparently expect a new map condition this week in Toxic Swamps. The developer is also looking to implement bigger ARC threats, but those expecting Speranza to become a hub that players can traverse will have to wait a bit longer.

Since it’s only accessible through Warframe, it’s a lot for new players to download the entire game to try it out. The response from the hardcore has been positive, though there have been complaints of being unable to shoot weapons on the Atomicycle. It’s unknown if this will change when the expansion drops, so stay tuned for updates.

Warframe: 1999 follows the Protoframes in the titular year, with the player controlling Arthur (voiced by Ben Starr) as he embarks on a quest to find Dr. Entrati. Along the way, he’ll deal with Scaldra and On-Lyne, later revealed as an Infested boy band in the current timeline.

There’s also a playable Extermination Mission with players taking down Scaldra. Further details on its content are unknown, though the developer confirmed that players must complete the quests “Awakening” and “Vor’s Prize” to play the demo. Once complete, you’ll receive the Protokol Longsword Skin for free.

Warframe: 1999 is the next mainline quest for the free-to-play action RPG. It stars the Protoframes, who are trying to find Dr Entrati, engaging in more grounded combat than the base game. While all this is happening, players must also deal with the Technocyte Code (which also has ties to 1999), to destroy their virus, On-Lyne.

It will serve as a prologue to Warframe: 1999. Though details are scant, the developer teases The Man in the Wall (one of the major antagonists) not sitting “idly by.” Thus far, the latter’s faction, The Murmur, looks to escape Dr Albrecht Entrati’s labs, which would be bad for the Origin System.

Considering the Protoframes in the expansion are looking for Entrati, it’s safe to say that the outcome of 1999 could influence The Murmur. How is the Infested boy band On-Lyne, the Technocyte Coda, involved? Time will tell, so stay tuned.

After conversing at their base, protagonist Arthur Nightingale sets out to meet Entrati with other members offering backup on some sleek motorcycles. He quickly runs into Major Neci Rusalka and battles several enemies, including an H-04 Efervon Tank. Eventually, he runs into who else but Excalibur and engages in a sword fight.

The gameplay then cuts back to the Origin System, with the Tenno in their Railjack investigating a strange tune. It eventually leads to a confrontation against the Technocyte Coda responsible for the On-lyne virus (the same name as the boy band in 1999).

The end of the teaser is interesting because it teases the inclusion of Volt, or the 1999 equivalent of the same (Arthur seemingly represents Excalibur while Aoi is Mag). A new reveal is coming July 20th, with the developer teasing that last year’s demo “barely scratched the surface” and it can’t wait to “show you what’s next.”

Of course, those who watch at 4:30 PM ET on Twitch can receive Saryn Prime for free. TennoCon 2024 kicks off on July 19th at 11 AM ET. Those who watch for 30 minutes can receive an AX-52 Rifle as a free weapon drop.

Warframe: 1999 launches sometime this year, so stay tuned for potential release date news during the event. Warframe is available for PC, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Nintendo Switch and iOS.

Mastery Rank is earned from leveling up weapons, Warframes, Archwings, K-Drives and more, with players taking a Mastery Test to level up. Failing to do so means you have to try again, and since it’s necessary for reaching cinematic quests, it can be a pain for new players. That’s all changing in the next update, and players can jump into quests, like Whispers in The Walls, even if they’re relatively new to the game.

As a result, the Story Skip pack will now be a Level Skip pack for gaining a quick boost and playing tougher content. It’s worth noting that Mastery Rank isn’t going away and will still be required for using certain weapons, increasing the daily maximum Syndicate standing and Focus points, and more.

Whispers in the Walls goes live in December, with a new look coming at The Game Awards on December 7th. Stay tuned in the meantime for more details.

As the next cinematic quest, the update sees players venturing to Albrecht Entrati. He’s the first to access the Void and plays a major part in the game’s events. The Man in the Wall will also appear, and players must battle new Murmur enemies.

A new weapon, the Grimoire, will be available to help, and players can collect pages from new Alchemy and Netracells missions to strengthen it. The new player hub, The Sanctum, features new characters like Loid, and players will venture to Entrati Labs and other surreal environments.

The studio has also announced that it will be bringing cross platform saves to Warframe alongside the update in December. The feature, set to be rolled out in phases, will allow Warframe players to be able to switch between different platforms to play on while at the same time being able to maintain their progression.

Aside from cross saves, one of the major features of the Whispers in the Walls update is the addition of the new Grimoire weapon type. Using the new weapon, players will be able to shoot out eldritch blasts from their Grimoires, with more power being available to players as they find new pages of the Grimoire throughout the new story in the update.

The melee heavy attack system is also seeing an update, with the Tennokai now being able to use random heavy attacks without having to consume the combo counter that is typically built up over the course of a fight. The feature requires players to have the Tennokai Segment installed into the Arsenal for this to work.

Capping things off is a new Warframe coming to the game. Dubbed Qorvex, the new frame is one of the Entrati’s Void projects, and makes use of radiation status ailments to take on enemies.

The official Twitter account doesn’t provide too many details, aside from players being able to take their account “anywhere, on any platform.” So, if you’re on PC and want to play on the go with Nintendo Switch before transferring back, that will be possible. On the other hand, you could also go from consoles to PC if your PS4 and Xbox One aren’t cutting it anymore.
