Yu-Gi-Oh! remains one of the most popular and beloved card games of all time. It offers a fairly simple and easy to understand set of rules along with mythological based art and designs. For those who can’t quite be bothered to collect the cards, there’s always the digital versions, and Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution has you covered.

The game was an updated version of Legacy of the Duelist that included more cards as well as updated rules that released for the Nintendo Switch last year. Now those on other systems and PC can get in on the action with a release later this month, Konami announced. It will include additional content with new cards and foes, as well as revised rules from the latest version of the game set to go into effect April 1st. For those who already got the Switch version, no worries, as this additional material will be given as a free download.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution is available now for Nintendo Switch, with the PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions coming March 24th.

The wildly popular card game, Yu-Gi-Oh!, is coming to the Nintendo Switch in the form of Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution. It’s an enhanced re-release of a previous release on other platforms, and now we finally know when the game will be coming out- later this year in August.

The game features card battling in the style of the actual card game against the backdrop of the various anime series it has spawned. You’ll battle through scenarios based on those shows from the original adaptation, all the way up to the latest. As we reported before, the game will actually have a physical release in the west, and along with it comes extra goodies for fans. It will have three exclusive cards never before released in America: the Link Monster, Progleo; the Cyberse Monster Micro Coder; and the Spell Card Cynet Codec. You can check out the game’s website for more details.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution will release on the Switch August 20th and will retail for $39.99 in either digital or physical form. Check out the announcement trailer below.

The heart of the cards will come in a case now.

An adaptation of the wildly popular card game, Yu-Gi-Oh!, came out in 2015 for PS4 and Xbox One, called Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist. Earlier this year, an enhanced re-release of the game was announced for the Switch, titled Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution. It released in Japan April 25th as a digital-only title, but it seems that publisher Konami will also release a physical version for its upcoming worldwide release.

As you can see from the official Yu-Gi-Oh! Twitter below, Link Evolution will have both a digital and physical release when it comes to the west. The game features all the content and DLC released for the original Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist, which has cards and storylines from the anime series, spanning the original to the latest ARC-V series. It will also include Link Monsters and New Master Rules in addition.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution doesn’t have a date for release outside Japan yet, but we will hear more about the game, including a possible date, later this month.

The game is bringing the latest rules of the card game to the Nintendo Switch.

In news that will undoubtedly shock many, Konami has announced a brand new video game. Don’t get too excited, though, because it’s not a new Silent Hill, Contra, Castlevania, or Metal Gear. It’s a new Yu-Gi-Oh title, albeit one that’s fans of that franchise have probably been hoping for for a while now.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution brings the competitive card game to the Switch (so far, it is only announced for the Switch), allowing players to play with the newest rule sets called the “New Master Rules” (similar versions of Yu-Gi-Oh on other consoles have not been updated with the changes made to the rules of the game).

Right now, that is all the information we have, though more is promised in the April 2019 issue of V-Jump, which should be out later this month. So we will know more soon enough. But hey, a card game is a great fit for the Switch, so I have to imagine Yu-Gi-Oh will do well. Especially since, while developers of Hearthstone and The Elder Scrolls Legends have both expressed interest in bringing their game to Switch, right now the Switch is pretty card game-less.
