Yes, Konami is still making games to show.

Konami might have gained a rightful reputation for their tone deaf pursuit of Pachinko earnings while they ruin their legendary franchises, but believe it or not, Konami is still ostensibly a game company. Via press release today, Konami even announced their plans to attend Gamescom 2018 in between their lucrative new pastime of turning the dreams of Metal Gear Solid 3 fans into so many tiny pachinko balls.

The four titles announced will all be available to attendees on the show floor in Cologne, Germany during the August 21 to 25 run. In its playable debut, the Switch exclusive Hyper Sports R will have several of the game’s events available to test drive. Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner MARS will also be available ahead of the September launch. They’ll also have a booth to continue to push their Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links mobile title, and to the surprise of nobody at all, they’ll have Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 on the floor.

Of course, other game developers will be at GamesCom too, with Capcom, THQ Nordic, Bandai Namco and Microsoft all having made announcements as to what to expect from them at the August show. Which title are you most looking forward to? Let us know in the comments.

The present and future of PlayStation VR is full of compelling games.

Though PlayStation VR arrived in October 2016, we’ve seen a fairly large number of games supporting it since then. Virtual reality technology has a fairly large barrier for entry as is but the future holds even more intriguing games for PSVR. Let’s take a look at 15 PlayStation VR titles for 2018 and beyond.

Golem

Highwire Games’ Golem follows the tale of a child who uses magic to navigate the ruins of the Endless City. The actual combat, which is 1:1 with player reaction in terms of blocking and attacking, and movement look interesting. However, it’s the talent involved, namely former Bungie composer Martin O’Donnell and designer Jaime Griesemer along with former Valve artist Travis Brady, that has us interested. Golem has recently been delayed but we’re looking forward to how it turns out.

No word regarding a Western release as of now.

Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner MARS is the remastered version of the original game that was released back in 2003. This remastered edition was announced back in 2017 and now the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu has revealed that the game is set to release in Japan in September of this year.

This remastered edition will feature remastered audio, improved graphics, and will even support 4K resolution. Gamers will also be ale to experience the game in a whole new light as it also brings some virtual reality content through the PlayStation VR and Steam VR. This is also great news for PC users who may not have had the chance to experience the game either on the PS2 or the HD version on the PS3.

As of now, we have no information regarding a Western release of the game, so we’ll just have to wait for some official confirmation regarding this.

PS4 and PS4 Pro are set to receive a ton of games in the future.

The PlayStation 4 continues to look dominant and 2018 is only just getting started. It doesn’t matter if it’s first party titles, third party games exclusive to the console, remasters and remakes, or what have you. There’s simply way too much coming to the PS4 to ignore it for this year and beyond. Let’s take a look at 30 games exclusive to the console (even if they’re coming to PC as well) that you should forward to.

Note: This list contains console and timed exclusives as well.

Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom

After numerous delays, Level-5’s epic RPG will finally be releasing in March for the PlayStation 4 and PC. Set several years after the first game, players will control Evan, the young king of the Cat tribe after his kingdom is overthrown by the Rat tribe. With numerous allies to gather, a new mode for kingdom building and revamped combat, Ni no Kuni 2’s gorgeous visuals are just one of the reasons for hopping back into the world.

Zone of the Enders should look better than ever.

The remaster of the classic Koijima title that nobody played because it wasn’t Metal Gear, Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner M∀RS should look even nicer now, thanks to the game now implementing Silicon Studio’s Yebis middleware to boost post-processing effects.

Revealed through press release released by Silicon Studio, the remaster will use the Yebis software, which strives to accurately emulate real life camera effects like depth of field and glare, as well as many other post processing effects and updates to HDR. Yebis is widely known in the industry and used by many studios, such as From Software in Dark Souls III and Bloodborne.

The game, currently in development as a collaboration between Konami and Cygames, was first revealed at the Tokyo Game Show earlier this year, with a trailer showing off the enhanced visuals. Players can look for it on PS4 and PC with PlayStation VR and Steam VR support in spring of 2018.

Kojima's cult classic returns, in VR.

Konami surprised everyone this TGS when they announced that they will be bringing Hideo Kojima’s second Zone of the Enders game over to the PS4 and PC as Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner M∀RS (please ignore the ridiculous title). They surprised people even more when they announced that the game would be supporting 4K and VR- that’s more effort put into a game than most expected them to invest at this point.

If all of this sounds too good to be true, then they have got proof for you, in the form of a brand new trailer for the remaster- running in glorious 4K, at that. While Zone of the Enders was always a niche franchise, there is no doubt that its fans will be thrilled at the seemingly loving care that has apparently gone into this remaster.

You can check out the trailer for yourself below- the game is due out in Spring 2018.
