Tencent Will Bring PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds To China, Will Make Necessary Changes To Align With Regulations

Tencent will bring the game to China ensuring that it does not go against Chinese core values.

China is the biggest market for gaming in terms of market value. It would make sense then to bring the hottest game of the year, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds to China. However, since the game does not align with  the country’s traditional culture it had seemed like the game would not be released in the country. Now, internet and gaming behemoth Tencent is partnering with Bluehole so as to release the game in China.

Tencent will make the necessary changes to the game to ensure that it does not go against regulations. For a game that is about violently killing others while making one’s way towards victory, quite a few aspects of the game will have to be changed so as to meet the stipulated requirements. It should be interesting to see how Tencent tackles  this problem and ensures that the game remains fun while simultaneously aligning with the regulations.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds  is set to leave early access on PC next month.
