Final Fantasy Type 0 HD, the long awaited western release of the hit PSP entry in Square’s long running JRPG series, is almost here, and it is now available to pre-load on both, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. This has shed light upon a curious discrepancy, which seems to be baffling- the game’s file size appears to be larger on PlayStation 4 than Xbox One.
On the Xbox One, the game is 22.35 GB, according to the Xbox Live store. Meanwhile, the PSN Store tells us that the PlayStation 4 version will need 26.8 GB. No reason has been given for this difference in file sizes, though it is possible that Square will forego releasing the Xbox One version in Japan, and that it therefore lacks the Japanese dub.
Or, it is maybe just the obviously higher resolution assets that the PS4 version of the game will have over the Xbox One version. Obviously. Yeah. That has to be it.
