The Last Guardian E3 Listing is “Speculative” According to Sony

And thus does reality sink in.

Earlier today, a poster on NeoGAF found a listing on E3 Insider for The Last Guardian. This was to indicate that the game, which has been in development limbo since being announced at E3 2009, would finally be showcased in a more gameplay-esque form (with a PS4 announcement to follow).

Alas, a Sony spokesperson recently got in touch with Eurogamer and stated that, “The page on the ESA site is speculative I’m afraid.”

Not that we didn’t have our doubts. Developed by Team ICO and Sony Japan, it would’ve made sense to advertise it for June 10th, the date of Sony’s E3 press conference. However, the listing indicated that it would be showcased on June 11th. It also stated the platform to be the PS3, with a release date of “TBA”. Certainly vague enough to raise some eyebrows.

Hopefully an update will be provided in the near future on The Last Guardian, if not necessarily at this year’s E3.
