The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences has announced its list of speakers for this year’s DICE conference. The summit will feature a keynote address by Phil Spencer, Microsoft’s executive vice president of gaming. Some newly announced speakers include Neil Druckmann, who is currently directing The Last of Us Part 2 with the rest of his team at Naughty Dog.
Druckmann will be joined by Dan Trachtenberg, director and writer of 10 Cloverfield Lane. This panel will speak about “the creative process in crafting character-driven experiences for video games.” Having worked on titles such The Last of Us and Uncharted series, Druckmann seems to be the perfect candidate to speak about games centered around characters and their narratives.
Additionally, the event will also feature a talk by Cuphead’s executive producer and artist Maja Moldenhauer who will explain the creative process that made their game such a great success. The event will most likely be livestreamed but this hasn’t been confirmed yet, so keep your eyes open if all of this sounds interesting to you.
