The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered’s No Return Mode Will Have 12 Different Levels – Rumour

The LinkedIn profile of a Naughty Dog QA tester claims that the upcoming remaster's new roguelike mode will have 12 levels.

Naughty Dog finally officially announced The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered last week, and among its several enhancements and additions, the one that has perhaps caught the of most people is No Return, its new roguelike mode. The developer has said more details on its levels, mechanics, and playable characters will be revealed ahead of the remaster’s launch, though it seems some of those details have emerged ahead of time.

As spotted by Twitter user @Joanastic, the LinkedIn profile of Colin Freeman – who is a contract QA tester at Naughty Dog – states that The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered’s No Return mode will have 12 different levels. On his profile, Freeman states that he “created, implemented, and tested AI dialogue regions in-engine” and “adjusted PAT tags on surfaces and objects” across 12 different No Return roguelike levels. You can view a screenshot below.

Presumably, No Return’s levels will be set in locations found throughout The Last of Us Part 2’s single player campaign, though which 12 locations have been used for the mode remains to be seen. Presumably, we’ll find out in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for more updates.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered launches for PS5 on January 19. Owners of the original PS4 release will be able to upgrade to the remaster for $10.
