The Lord of the Rings series is set to have a new title release in 2021, starring the Ring-tortured Gollum. The game was actually announced earlier last year, but since then it’s been all quiet. Now, though, it seems we’re getting a little more information about the game, including confirmation about it being on next generation consoles.
In the newest issue of EDGE magazine, some details about the title were released, including things like it being a stealth based game, as well as Gollum himself looking much different than how he has been portrayed in the past. But among that, there was also confirmation that the game would come out for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. While that seemed obvious considering the game was said to release on PC and all “relevant consoles” when it was originally revealed, now we have official confirmation.
It’s not clear if the game will be next gen exclusive or cross-gen at this point. There’s a lot of time still until The Lord of the Rings: Gollum releases, so we’ll keep you updated as more information comes out.
