The Order 1886 Musical Featurette Released

Gotta love people with a love for what they do.

The Order 1886 has been quiet for good while now. The steam punk-eqsue third person action horror shooter is set to make an appearance at the upcoming PlayStation Experience Event in Las Vegas alongside a new demo. To get people talking about the game again as the show date draws ever closer, Sony Computer Entertainment have released a featurette that looks at the games musical score.

Ready at Dawn’s CTO Andrea Pessino has said that the released information is sentimental and cheesy, which it is, but it does in fact also show serious investment in the project.  An extract reads, “When we were recording the score for The Order at Abbey Road you could feel the excitement in the air – these were all world class, pro musicians and engineers who do this day in and out, calling them a bit jaded is only fair, and yet their appreciation for the music was unmistakable. The players, singers, soloists, conductor (none other than Ben Foster!), orchestrator, engineers, the Sony audio production team, etc. everyone shared this sense that this was turning into something special, something to be especially proud of.”

In all games, sound is a key, bet it in abundance or in subtle peaks and valleys of orchestral flares. But in a game like The Order 1886 which looks to be 50% atmosphere, the sound-scape will be a fundamental component of the game. And I for one, am really looking forward to it.
