Just in time for Halloween, developer Red Barrels has announced a major new update for co-op horror title The Outlast Trials, slated for release on October 26. The update, which brings with it new content, also has a trailer that you can check out below.
Headlining the update is the introduction of a new Trial, titled Program 4: Courthouse. The update is also bringing with it new Weekly Programs, more MK-Challenges, and a new limited-time Halloween event, titled Program Geister. The update will also bring with it smaller additions, including new Amps, Variators, Prescriptions, Cosmetics, Cell Items, and a new minigame for the Sleep Room.
The update will also bring improvements to the game, including improving the Trial selection process for a group, improved gameplay experience for solo players, and improved AI behaviour in edge case scenarios.
The Outlast Trials is currently available as an Early Access title on PC, and was released back in May. The game has proven moderately successful for Red Barrels, having sold over 500,000 copies in its first week of release. For more details on The Outlast Trials, check out our review.
