Taking place during the Cold War, The Outlast Trials is a prequel to its predecessors. Players are put into the shoes of people have who have been kidnapped by the Murkoff Corporation where unethical experiments are being run. Players have to try and complete the titular trials, while simultaneously looking for clues to try and shut down Murkoff Corporation’s illegal experiments.
