The Relic: First Guardian Launches July 31st for PS5 and PC, New Trailer Showcases Intense Combat

Reclaiming Asiltus could challenge even the best, though Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2 players will need to wait a bit longer.

The Relic: First Guardian finally has a release date after it was delayed from last May. It’s slated to arrive on July 31 for PS5 and PC, with Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 versions scheduled for later this Summer.

To say that it’s a Soulslike we’ve been pretty curious about since it was announced would be an understatement. The story takes place on Asiltus, a once-thriving world that was overtaken by a void stemming from the destruction of a relic crucial to its well-being. Your task is to find the scattered pieces, which is easier said than done thanks to a multitude of enemies and bosses standing in your way. They’re a nasty bunch, but you’ve got all the moves you need to take them on with your head held high, and then some.

The announcement accompanies a new gameplay trailer (showcased below), offering a glimpse at the combat system. We’re pretty impressed by what we’ve seen so far, as it looks like you’re going to be weaving between enemy attacks to dish out some serious damage, and even harness the power of the elements with style and substance. We can’t wait to visit Asiltus for ourselves, and play our part in its salvation.
