The Rogue Prince of Persia Announced, Enters Steam Early Access on May 14th

Developed by Dead Cells' team Evil Empire, the rogue-lite action platformer sees the Prince questing to save Persia from an invading army.

Following several rumors, Ubisoft has finally announced The Rogue Prince of Persia, 2D action platformer rogue-lite. It’s developed by Evil Empire of Dead Cells fame and launches on May 14th for Steam Early Access. Check out the animated announcement trailer below.

The story sees the Prince fighting to protect Persia from an invading Hun army corrupted by “dark shamanic magic.” He’ll discover new weapons and trinkets, upgrading both to specialize in different builds while interacting with new characters and exploring areas. In an ode to the old-school platforming titles, the Prince employs acrobatics in combat, dodging foes and even kicking them into traps.

You can also wall-run to reach out-of-the-way areas, equip secondary weapons like bows, shields and grappling hooks, and use medallions for more challenges. Procedurally generated levels mean a different run each time. As with Dead Cells, new enemies, bosses, weapons, levels and story acts will be added throughout the early access period. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.
