The Uncharted movie will be releasing in 2017 now, Sony announced today. The movie has been under some sort of development for a while now, and this new date represents a further delay from previously announced plans.
As of right now, actually, the Uncharted movie remains a complete and total abstraction- there is no script (there isn’t even anyone attached to working on the script), there is no director, there is no casting that is confirmed… essentially, it exists as an idea to make a movie based on Uncharted, but that’s about it for now.
As of right now, the movie is slated to launch on June 30, 2017- this will, of course, be well over a year after the launch of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, which is planned to be the final Uncharted game. How that works with cross media promotion remains to be seen.
