This Would Be Neat: Dying Light May Support Oculus Rift

That would actually be pretty cool.

One of the genres of video games that stand to gain the most from virtual reality is horror games. Which is why every time I hear about the possibility of one supporting the upcoming Oculus Rift headset, I get excited.

Hence, my current excitement: it appears that Techland’s new game, Dying Light, may actually support Oculus Rift upon launch. Note, when I say ‘upon launch,’ I don’t mean the game’s launch, but rather, Oculus Rift’s consumer launch.

“We’re going to support the game after its release, and if they’ll be ready, hopefully we’ll be ready too,” lead game designer Maciej Binkowski told Digital Spy

“We’re most likely going to make sure our game has [Oculus Rift support] because it seems like a perfect match.”

And so it does. Although Techland doesn’t make the traditional brand of horror that would benefit the most from VR- their previous breakout hit was Dead Island, with Deep Silver- Dying Light still looks like the kind of game I would like to see in VR.
