During its recent financial report, Electronic Arts revealed that Star Wars Battlefront had shipped 14 million units and expanded the player base of those “new to the EA ecosystem” by 15 percent.
But more importantly, the publisher revealed that Titanfall 2 would be out during Q3 of fiscal year 2017. That essentially means sometime in the Fall and gameplay will debut at EA Play on June 12. A more concrete release date will likely be provided there.
It was also noted that Battlefront had 9.4 million unique players during the fourth quarter of the previous fiscal year alone. Madden NFL mobile players had grown by 30 percent year on year compared to last year and downloads for Madden games in general were up by 50 percent. The Sims 4 player base has also grown by almost two-thirds in the previous fiscal year with The Sims FreePlay hitting 200 million installs in its lifetime.
If that weren’t enough, there’s a new unannounced IP that we’ll be hearing about “soon”. Criterion’s next game perhaps?
