Titanfall Update 8 Adds Horde Mode, Ranked Play on October 23rd

Did we mention Hardcore game modes, new Titan OS voices and even Forged Certifications?

After touting its “biggest update” yet, Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall will be receiving update 8 later today. And in terms of this being the biggest update for the game yet, the developer wasn’t kidding at all.

Update 8 will add Frontier Defense mode, which allows up to four players to team up and face off against waves of enemy Spectres, Titans and other units to defend a single tower. It’s no straightforward Horde mode though as you’ll have to deal with Mortar Titans, Suicide Spectres, cloaked Titans and even Titans that can go Nuclear.

That’s not all. Ranked Play has also been added but it will function more as a pedometer of sorts, tracking your individual performance and seeing you rank up accordingly. You can of course disable it any time and it applies across all major modes.

That’s really only the tip of the iceberg – head here to check out the full patch notes. Update 8 will be going live later today so stay tuned for more details.
