Activision revealed yesterday that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 would be getting the remaster treatment courtesy of Vicarious Visions. That doesn’t mean simple resolution and frame rate bump though as both releases will have heavily revamped graphics, 4K support and much more. Vicarious Visions studio head Jen Oneal also told GameSpot that there wouldn’t be microtransactions at launch.
“Everything that you see at launch is going to be unlocked with gameplay. We’re not planning on having monetization at launch.” The game at launch will be a “complete package” though the studio might consider releasing paid content if fans ask for it later. Another interesting note is cross-platform play, which wasn’t outright confirmed.
It’s being considered but Oneal said, “When the time comes we will say more.” Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 will release on September 4th for PS4, Xbox One and PC with the PC version being exclusive to the Epic Games Store. Both titles are part of a single package and can’t be purchased separately. Along with all of the original skaters, players can expect new secrets, tricks, challenges and more. Stay tuned for more details and gameplay as it arrives.
