Total War: Three Kingdoms Video Breaks Down Romance and Records Modes

Find out how the core game changes with each mode.

It’s no secret that Total War: Three Kingdoms is one of the better strategy titles to emerge from The Creative Assembly. It’s become the biggest launch on Steam this year, beating out FromSoftware’s Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. So if you’ve already spent dozens of hours in Romance mode, why not try out Records?

In a new video, the developer outlines the differences between Romance and Records. The former is a more romanticized version of the era, providing direct control of Generals while making them stronger. Records is more historically accurate, following the real events that took place more closely.

It’s an intriguing way to handle the campaign, because it essentially provides two different ways to experience each Warlord. There’s a heavier emphasis on tactics in Records, and the dilemmas faced also change. Head to GamingBolt’s review of the game here to learn more about other gameplay aspects.
