Sega and Creative Assembly announced Total War: Warhammer 3 earlier this year, confirming that the strategy series’ Warhammer subseries would be culminating with its next big chapter some time by the end of this year. With not long left until 2021 wraps up though, it’s been announced that the game has been delayed.
The delay is, in the grand scheme of things, not a particularly large one- instead of late 2021, Total War: Warhammer 3 will now launch some time in early 2022, with Creative Assembly saying that the extra development time will allow them to “accomplish more than [they] could if [they] rushed to release this year.”
In its message on Twitter, the developer says it will have “plenty of new information” on the game in the months leading up to the new launch date, before adding: “The new date will make for a stronger release and the best first step into a new era for Total War: Warhammer. We don’t consider this release the end of our trilogy, but the start of years of content and support as we continue to bring the jaw-dropping scale of Games Workshop’s fantasy universe to Total War.”
When Total War: Warhammer 3 launches, it’ll be available for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
