One of the best and perhaps most underrated games to come out of Square Enix in recent years is HD-2D turn-based strategy RPG Triangle Strategy, though it seems the game is undergoing some changes behind the scenes on the Nintendo Switch.
Taking to Twitter, Square Enix announced that Triangle Strategy has been removed from the Nintendo Switch eShop. Fret not, however, because the delisting is only temporary (and those who already bought the game will still have access to it, of course). There’s no word on when the game will be available for purchase digitally on Switch again, but Square Enix says it is “working hard on this and will update” when there’s new information.
This isn’t a first for the company, incidentally. Earlier this year, the original Octopath Traveler was removed from the Switch eShop temporarily, and when it returned, its publisher on the store had been changed from Nintendo to Square Enix. Triangle Strategy similarly saw Nintendo publishing it on Switch all over the world, so it’s possible that it, too, has seen its publishing licenses change hands to Square Enix, necessitating the change in its eShop listing.
