A new Tropico 5 trailer has emerged, showcasing El Presidente’s origins in a rather…piratey way and if nothing else, sets the tone for what we can expect in Haemimont Games’ island management title. Check it out above.
Tropico 5 will see a hefty number of changes made to the game’s core experience. Besides completely reworking the game’s visual style from scratch, Haemimont is implementing several new features into the gameplay to make it more intriguing. For one, you can now hire relatives and family members in important government functions to ensure your regime’s survival long after Presidente is gone.
But you’ll still have to contend with rebel factions and governments along with the needs of the people if you want to stay in office. You’ll also traverse different eras from the 19th century to the 21st century and encounter unique challenges and events in the process.
Tropico 5 is out in Q2 2014 for Xbox 360, PC, Linux and Mac, with the PS4 version arriving later.
