Sega and The Creative Assembly have a new destination for their signature brand of empire-building and conquest – the Trojan War. Troy: A Total War Saga has been officially announced and will release for PC in 2020. It’s developed by The Creative Assembly in Sofia, Bulgaria and will be the studio’s first game.
As the setting for the Iliad, the Trojan War focused on the battle between Troy and Greece once Helen of Troy was abducted by Prince Paris. The conflict was famous for such events as the Trojan Horse and the fall of Achilles. Troy: A Total War Saga will offer the chance to experience both sides of the conflict.
Eight heroes will be available to choose and you’ll have to use warfare, diplomacy and other means to succeed. Given how successful Total War: Three Kingdoms was, we’re interested to see how the Sofia studio handles Troy. Total War: Warhammer 3 is also in the works so expect an announcement on that in the coming months as well.
