Turns Out Microsoft Isn’t Done With Kinect Just Yet

Microsoft says more people than anyone would expect are working on Kinect-based games.

Microsoft admitted during E3 2015 that it isn’t quite done with Microsoft Kinect. Phil Spencer made some mention of plans the company is coming up with when it comes to working with the Xbox One, the Kinect and Hololens. That isn’t anywhere near where the plans end.

The company is also planning on putting together a number of new games out that will incorporate the Kinect. Those games are already in development, according to Microsoft’s GM of global games publishing Shannon Loftis.

Loftis spoke to Polygon about the Kinect and said that the main reason Microsoft didn’t announce any Kinect-based games during its official press conference is because it wanted to focus on the backwards compatibility. Despite that, Loftis said that there are more companies than anyone would expect working on titles for the tech. It appears Microsoft is making one final push to make it worthwhile for Xbox One owners to actually use the Kinect.
