Ubisoft Are “Very Impressed” By Pokemon GO, Have Their Own AR Game In Development

But their own game won't be like Pokemon GO.

Pokemon GO has taken the world by storm, and over two weeks after its initial launch, it shows no signs of slowing down. Everyone in the industry seems to be joining in on the frenzy, including Ubisoft, whose CEO Yves Guillemot discussed the game’s success during a financial conference call the company was holding for its investors (via IGN).

“We are very impressed by what Nintendo has been able to achieve,” he said, noting that Ubisoft themselves have an AR game that is currently underway. He did clarify, however, that Ubisoft’s new AR game will not be like Pokemon GO, but that it will instead be something different. The most interesting thing here, I feel, is that he did not specify a platform for this new game at all.

Pokemon GO is available right now in 35 countries around the world, on iOS and Android smartphones. You can check out our review for the game here, and if you need help getting mastery over it, make sure to go through our Pokemon GO guide here.
