It seems that Ubisoft is quite busy these days, given the number of announcements it made during this year’s E3. However if rumors are true then a sequel to Beyond Good and Evil could be in the works by Ubisoft as hinted by it’s chief executive. Many fans believe that Beyond Good and Evil is one of those games that deserves a sequel, and interestingly enough in 2008 a sequel was announced but it was later fizzled out.
The Guardian spoke with Yves Guillemot (Co-founder of Ubisoft) and asked him straight up if Beyond Good and Evil 2 was in development. He stated “I can’t say the name, but there is a team working with Michel Ancel on a project that is… very interesting. It’s a game I’m sure you will like very much, and we can’t say more.”
Guillemot also stated, “There are some limits that we have to get rid of, because things have changed in the meantime, but there are elements we can keep. That’s why we don’t want to say anything until we are well advanced on the project. It’s too early to say.”
We can only hope that Beyond Good and Evil 2 will be announced soon enough.
