Ubisoft Is Looking Into Battle Royale Games, But Has Nothing To Announce At The Moment

What if the next Splinter Cell game turns out to be a battle royale title?

More and more major publishers seem to be hopping on board the battle royale train, in the wake of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite’s successes. Activision did it with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Blackout mode, EA has Apex Legends, and the upcoming battle royale mode for Battlefield 5, and even Rockstar hopped on the bandwagon with not one but two battle royale modes for Red Dead Redemption 2.

In all this, Ubisoft has not yet released a battle royale game. In fact, the company has publicly decried the prospect of including one for some of its games before. That may change in the future, however. Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot said during the company’s financial call that the publisher is looking into the battle royale genre, although he also said that at the moment, there is no announcement to be made regarding an entry there from them anyway.

If there is a battle royale game by Ubisoft coming, I imagine it will be announced at E3. For now, we can only speculate.
